W elcome to the Lyceum’s first production of 2010! We’re delighted to welcome back Lyceum Associate Artist John

Dove to direct one of Arthur Miller’s most powerful family portraits, The Price.

With awareness of global financial matters at an all time high, it is perhaps fitting that this subtle and moving tale centres

around a business transaction in which the price for the goods in question proves difficult to calculate. But primarily this story is of the personal cost of our choicesand emotional investment and ultimately it is Miller’s keen awareness of the value we place on various intangible elements of our lives which comes to the fore.

I hope you’ll agree we have launched the new year with a compelling evening which offers food for thought on the great complexity of family and values.

Mark Thomson, Artistic Director and Chief Executive
