Our Commitment to the EnvironmentAt Cameron LNG, we believe that the development of energy infrastructure can be compatible with the protection and preservation of the natural environment, if done in a responsible manner. That’s why we made a commitment to build and operate our terminal and liquefaction facility to meet and exceed federal and state standards.

Cierra Theriot receives our “Love of the Environment” award. Cierra describes her art, “My entry is made of clay and things found in our Louisiana environment, and I decided to depict a dancer because it’s what gives me the most pride. My dancer wears moss, leaves and other natural items, standing in a dance pose celebrating her culture and all that surrounds her. The two are one”.

Pride in our Environment

Louisiana is called the “sportsman’s paradise” because of the vast array of wildlife and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including boating and fishing. Southwest Louisiana in particular just “feels different” than any other state, and it is well-reflected in the words and artwork of the many students who participated in our calendar art contest this year. There is a proud sense of wonder and excitement in their sentiments.

Our employees selected the calendar contest theme “Pride in our Environment” and the students responded with some truly amazing work, both touching and inspirational, that shows real appreciation for their environment. One common thread was that through conservation and restoration of the region’s natural resources, future generations of Louisianans will be able to enjoy Louisiana’s beauty and abundance. Every submission connected with the environment and showcased their love of Louisiana.

Cameron LNG is also proud to share this environment with you and the past year has been an exciting one for us. We’ve watched the skyline over our construction site in Louisiana change on a daily basis and have hired over 100 new permanent workers for our facility. We’ve invested in our communities and schools through projects for school supplies, scholarships, funding for Head Start and food banks, and by remembering many other worthwhile nonprofit organizations that needed help. We are proud that we could lend a hand as a member of the community.

It was exciting to see an increase in the number of entries with 153 students submitting art for this year’s calendar contest and it was very difficult to choose the winners that grace the pages of our calendar. Our employees selected their favorite for the front cover, a photo from Ali Desormeaux, a seventh-grader at Hackberry High School. We’ve also presented a “Love of the Environment” award to Cierra Theriot, who created a dancer made of natural objects including moss, leaves and other items. Her artwork is pictured on the inside front cover.

In his submission, Caleb Harris wrote that “no matter where you go – whether it is North, South, East or West Louisiana, people will show pride in the birds that inhabit our state.” Lane Hulsey told us that it is “important to take care of Louisiana and take pride in what we have.” Mariah Ranikz said that she was “proud to be a Southwest Louisiana citizen, because the hospitality, kindness and fun found here is extraordinary.”

We take pride in showcasing the work of these artistic students and hope that you enjoy this year’s calendar. As I read the student quotes that accompany the artwork, I take pride in knowing that these young people will give inspiration back to Louisiana as they grow up, work, and live in this remarkable community.

Have a wonderful year,

Farhad Ahrabi CEO, Cameron LNG

Adolfo Reyes, 3rd Place Grand Lake High School, 12th grade“I often stop to enjoy the beauty of nature... the calmness, sunsets, water or animals just soaking up the sun. My alligator does exactly that - not hunting, not doing anything, just being calm and enjoying the Southwest Louisiana sunset.”
