SURVEY• We created a survey to ask our target audiences what their main worries were as well as physical

interviews. We felt it was necessary to do this survey as answers are anonymous so may be more honest and less bias. In addition to this, we believed it would be helpful to have primary data to use as statistics along with the secondary data we’ve researched. This ensures the facts are reliable and provides more quantitative data as appose to qualitative data making it easier for an audience to absorb and puts information into perspective.

• To display this, we plan to provide animations so the consumer can understand the figures while educating them simultaneously. We used a website called SurveyMonkey to conduct our questions and was something I was unfamiliar with but became easy to navigate after a short while. We asked 5 closed questions about each topic we thought was often associated with stress within our age group then asked a young market to answer resulting in the site analysing the results and creating graphs.

QUESTION 1

Firstly, we questioned how confident students felt with their physical appearance. We expected majority of people to say they would change an aspect of their looks however we did not expect how extreme the results would be with only one person answering no. This follows ideologies within today’s society but think will still shock an audience due to the severity of how insecure young people really are and therefore educating them through the harsh reality of the figures.

QUESTION 2

Then, we took education into consideration to show how important college is when understanding factors of stress. The results revealed the majority of participants said it was their main concern and highlighted what aspects of their life they receive the most pressure from. With so many other factors involved, it was surprising to see most people believed education was the biggest worry in their life whether that’s expectations of themselves or from others is unclear.

QUESTION 3

We plan to use this statistic as it was the one that surprised us the most. We tried to identify where certain goals and expectations originate from and all but one person said they felt pressured from others to achieve a particular amount. It is hard to understand whether students are more critical on themselves or by other people around them and so this result is interesting to see as it highlights maybe society has higher expectations rather than students over their own academic performance.

QUESTION 4

This figure proved money isn’t as challenging in students lives as other elements like interaction and education. With older students going into adulthood, it is more common to have part time jobs and so can provide for themselves as they are encouraged to be independent as they grow older. However, majority of answers revealed money is an issue but doesn’t specify whether the amount of money is an issue or the lack of money so we decided this wouldn’t be as hard hitting.

QUESTION 5

We didn’t have an initial assumption about the results of this question so this educated us further into audience research surrounding our topic. Despite these pressures from others, themselves and other influences; 70% of respondents didn’t know what they wanted to do in the future. As a student, it was shocking to see as you can normally think your circle of friends represents all students so the honesty highlighted the lack of guidance they have so may prove controversial.
