Questions to ask:Who is the main character in the story and what did he enjoy doing before he

became afraid? Do you enjoy doing the same or different things? What does the word “adventurous” mean?

What evidence can you find in these first pages that shows that Milton was adventurous?

Can you spot the pairs of rhyming words on each page? Can you find two other words to join these rhyming strings?

Read through the powerpoint ’Introduction to the totally pawsome reading gang’ to help you think about different types of questions you answer.

TASK: Complete the word search but make sure that you understand the meaning of the words as you will come across them later in the story.

Mathematics task:Today’s White Rose Maths lesson is on doubling. Please note we have changed the order we would like the children to complete the White Rose lessons

ActivitiesYou don’t have to do all of these activities, please choose the activities your child is

most interested in. ● Double the crocodiles teeth! Print out or create your own crocodile image

with no teeth. Choose a number from 0-10 and place that many playdough/paper teeth on the bottom jaw of your crocodile. Next double the teeth to make the same amount on the top! Write down the double number sentence to represent what teeth your crocodile has e.g 4+4=8
