PRINCE LORENZO BORGHESE LAUNCHES ANIMAL
AID USAS NEW YEAR CARAVAN
Former reality personality and President of Animal Aid USA Prince Lorenzo Borghese
helped to create a better reality for dogs in danger as he launched the organizations
first animal rescue caravan of 2013.
On January 18th the New Year Caravan began a journey
to put 175 shelter dogs on the road to a brighter
tomorrow. The vehicles journey is part of a trek repeated
every 30 days by Animal Aid USA volunteers who travel
1,600 miles from New Jersey to Liberty County, Georgia
to rescue shelter animals from rural Georgia
communities. The dogs have been pulled from animal
control facilities across Georgia to be rescued, and most
have been brought to Animal Aid USAs Miracle Ranch (a
temporary transfer station and quarantine facility in Long
County) for care and treatment before forever homes can
be found for each of them.
Each moment an animal is about to be euthanized due
to its inability to find a loving home is an emergency situation to our group ofvolunteers. Im so happy to be a part of our first caravan in the new year in which 175
lives will be saved, said the season nine star of The Bachelor, who also donates five
percent of the profits from hisRoyal Pet Clubline of pet products and $2 for every
new Royal Pet Club customer to help Animal Aid USAs efforts.
When volunteers on the caravan arrive at Miracle
Ranch, they will be met by a dog who is a living
testament to the care that canines receive thanks to
Animal Aid USA. Currently fostered by an Animal Aid
USA volunteer, Asher an injured dog suffering from a
gangrenous wound to his neck was rescued from thestreets of Warne County, Georgia by the Okefenokee
Humane Society and is now on the mend due to the
diligence of the staff at Cedar Animal Hospital in
Richmond Hills.
Steve Dash of the Humane Society of Atlantic County
in Atlantic City, New Jersey, an Advisory Board
member for Animal Aid USA, will travel with the New
Year Caravan to join the many volunteers who came
together to save Asher when they meet the lucky miracle pup at Miracle Ranch. The
Humane Society of Atlantic County will be taking Asher into its program once he is
medically cleared for travel, which is expected to take a few months.
