From the Principal . . . . . . . . . . . School Fete
Our School Fete is fast approaching, being this Friday 5th April and it is shaping up to be
better than ever. Information and requests for items, from teachers, have been sent
home to parents. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking forward to our School
Fete, as it is a time when all of our community can come together and enjoy an
afternoon with our students.
Easter Raffle
Our Easter raffle will be held again this year. It will
be drawn next week on Friday 12th April. So far,
there have been quite a number of chocolate eggs
coming into the office. The more Easter eggs, the
bigger the raffle, so please keep the eggs coming in.
Also, you will receive a book of raffle tickets today,
these are to sell and return to school before
Thursday 11th April. Thank you for your help in
this area.
Voluntary School Contributions
Our Voluntary School Contributions for 2019 are as follows:
$25.00 per student
$40.00 for a family of 2 students or more
Please be aware that these fees are not compulsory, however, all money raised goes
directly back into educational resources for our students, including readers and hands-
on Numeracy activities. If you have any concerns regarding this matter, please do not
hesitate to contact me.
School Holidays
School holidays are fast approaching. Our last day of school this term is Friday 12th
April. The first day back for Term 2 will be Tuesday 30th April, with the teachers
returning on Monday 29th April for the Staff Development Day.

Please keep bringing in eggs/chocolates for the raffle. Everyone who
brings in an egg gets a ticket in a special draw. Tickets were sent
home to families to purchase today. Please return tickets by

WINTER JACKETS
The NPS P&C Uniform Shop is taking orders for jackets
again until the last day of this term. $45 all sizes, money
and sizes are needed at the time of ordering, orders will be
delivered next term. Please place your order at the front
office. Some sizes are available to try on.

3/4V and 4P have been joining together to do sport each week. We have
been doing partner dancing and capture the flag.

What’s been happening in 4B?
Literacy We have been reading “Georges Marvellous
Medicine” and “Fantastic Mr Fox” by Roald
Dahl this term. Over the past two weeks we
have started persuasive writing with a focus on
RECYCLING.
Mathematics In Maths we have been learning whole
number through hands on activities and
daily number talks. Fractions, 3D
objects, area and length have also been
discovered.
Creative Art Our focus for art this term has
been contrast and in particular
using bright colours to showcase
our skills.
Positive Behaviour In following, the 4B’s we have been
working towards individual and whole class
rewards. We use Class Dojo to record
points and rewards are earned at
particular milestones.
Seesaw In 4B we have been using the Seesaw
app to post photos of our work and
updates to our families. We are able
to check their comments throughout
the day.

NPS Fete –Safety Brief
Friday 5 April 2019
1. This event is for Narrandera Public School students, parents, carers and
visitors.
2. First Aid
Visitors and or students seeking first aid are to contact the nearest staff
member or Principal.
School first aid officers and first aid kits available on site.
3. All visitors / parents / carers and students are to enter and exit the school
through the front gate located in Adams street.
4. ALL visitors are to refer to the schools induction safety brief provided in this
newsletter.
5. Evacuation areas are shown on the school site plan, which is available in the
schools induction safety brief and is located in the school foyer.
6. Emergency procedures are included in the schools induction safety brief and
are located in the school foyer.
7. Food: A list of ingredients for all food provided, will be available at each stall.
8. Toilets:
Students to use student toilets located at the school. Students are
reminded they need permission from a teacher before going to the toilet.
Visitors are to use staff toilets located in Block G. Directions can be
obtained from a staff member.
