From the Principal’s Desk
March was a wonderful month at Riley
Elementary! We sent our 2nd-5th grade classes to
the Lubeznik Center of the Arts, we hosted our
kindergarten and preschool registration, we
participated in ring toss, we had our second
eLearning Day, and we had our best Fun Fair
yet! I would like to thank Mrs. Lyles, our
PTA, and all of the Riley staff for volunteering
and making the Fun Fair a resounding success!
In April we will host an art show, talent show,
begin our state standardized test ILEARN,
and host an information meeting for parents of
our current 4th and 5th graders as they transition
to the middle school. Let’s have a great month
and enjoy our Spring Break! ~Mr. Alber
District Exception & Open Enrollment
applications will be accepted starting
April 1, 2019. You must renew every
year! Please look for the application
on the district website at
www.lpcsc.k12.in.us
News & Notes
~Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade
ring toss teams for successful seasons!
~ If your child is going to be absent, you must
call the school by 9:30 a.m. to report it. If
you don’t call, you will receive a call from
Skyward. Also, please report dismissal
changes by 2:30 by note or a phone call.
~The last student day is on Tuesday,
June 4th.
~We are still accepting registration for
kindergarten and preschool for the 2019-20
school year. Please bring in your child’s
birth certificate, shot records, and proof of
residency.
~A reminder that book rental is due no later
than May 24, 2019. After that date it must
be paid at the ESC.
~The LP Public Library staff will host a program to
share with you the benefits of the 360 program for
you and your children. Mr. Mario Rosa, LPCSC
Family Resource Services Coordinator, will also
attend to answer any questions. We are sending a
flyer home with more details.
At Riley, safety is a top priority!
We have implemented both
crisis prevention and crisis
response procedures over the
last year, including a mock lock
down in March. We have a
district Safe Schools hotline for
parents to call should you be
concerned about any
suspicious behavior. 324-1380
