Congratulation to our ATMS students and staff!! 2018-2019 is “in the books,” summer is just about to begin and September is just around the corner with new students, new classes, new friends and new teachers. An extra congrats to our Grade 8 students who will be moving on to high school.
Speaking of new teachers, it’s also time to say goodbye to teachers and support staff who will not be returning next year. Some of these staff were here on temporary assignments and will be replaced by original staff members who are returning. One
has taken on a “district helping teacher” position. Some staff are taking on a new challenge at a different school. And, as most of you know, Nick Cochrane, our VP and long-time ATMS staff member is off to another middle school.
Here is a list of those staff leaving us at the end of the year:
Kiran Grewal, Education Assistant
Denise Veer, ELL teacher
David Hickey, Grade 7 teacher
Catherine Streeter, Grade 6 and 7 teacher
Kevin Loong, Grade 7 teacher
A huge thanks to these staff members for their months and years of dedication to ATMS, building relationships, instructing and helping to shape the lives of the students that we share our halls and classrooms with. You will all be missed! Information on any new staff will be shared in September. However, Jennifer Bennato will be our new VP next year. She has already spent about 10 days at ATMS helping out and starting to take on her duties. Thanks, Jenn!!

Principal’s Message
Vice-Principal’s Message
It has been my pleasure to work at Abbotsford Traditional Middle School for the past 13 years. I spent my first eleven years teaching Grade 8, and the last two years as the Vice Principal. In that time, I have seen the school grow and become the great school that it is today. Every day I see students excited to be at ATMS. I see students developing their character, and inquisitive minds that are passionate about learning. My hope is that Traditional continues to flourish in the future thanks to the great
students, parents and staff that make it a special place to learn.
