We are hosting a Kindergarten information evening on Wednesday, January 29 th at 6:30 pm in the library where questions will be answered and information about the school and the Kindergarten program will be shared. We look forward to meeting you soon. Registration forms will be available at the office. Birth Certificate and a Saskatchewan Health card are required. A copy of the Baptismal Certificate if students are Catholic would also be requested. Please call us at 659- 7200 if you need further information. We will be doing limbo in the gym and popsicles will be sold at $1.00. Proceeds will be used for school activities. Designated Parking We now have a designated spot on the side of the school on Cowley road by the crosswalk. Please be mindful of this change as this spot is required for a student on a daily basis. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. January 24 th - K-4 Retreat- “Love your Selfie- Appreciate God’s Masterpiece- YOU! We are excited for our primary retreat tomorrow. K-4 students will be participating in a variety of activities enriching their faith relationship with themselves and God. We are pleased to welcome local author Kristen Pierce who will be reading and sharing her Inner Compass series books with our students. Kristen will have books for sale at the retreat and you can also google Inner Compass books and books are available through this link as well. Books are $15.00 per paperback. $40.00 for all the three-book series. First Student Canada You can subscribe to receive notifications of bus delays and cancellations. Information can be found at https://saskatoon.firststudentinc.com or by calling 306-343- 3300. Please advise your children to return home if the bus has not arrived at their stop after 10 minutes and contact the bus company. We do not want any students walking to school without parent permission. Vacations/Homework- Teachers are often requested to provide homework in advance of a family holiday where school days will be missed. This request can be very challenging since so much teaching and learning today is group work and experience based. It is also very time consuming for the teacher to accommodate this request for numerous families at various times throughout the year. Please note that homework that is missed will be expected t o be caught up upon the students’ return. Our CSCC meetings for this school year will be held in our library @ 7:00 p.m. on the following dates: February 3, March 2, April 6, May 4 and June 15. Everyone is welcome to attend. We want to remind families that we will provide childcare at the school. Kindergarten Registration (Fall 2020 - 2021) It’s not too soon to think about kindergarten for next fall! At Father Robinson school, we strive to see students reach their full potential in a faith-filled learning environment, as well as teaching children that they have what it takes to reach out and make the world a better place. If your child will be five years old by Jan. 31, 2021, he or she can begin kindergarten in September this year. Announcing Middle Years Youth Ministry - EDGE

The Cathedral of the Holy Family Parish is launching Middle School Ministry

once again! EDGE is a program for youth in Grades 6-8 who want to:

• have fun

• learn about the Christian faith in a personal way ▪ meet God as our Father and friend

These groups will run from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on scheduled Tuesdays during the year, hosted at the

Cathedral of the Holy Family. Our team of volunteers and mentors can’t wait to meet you! If you

In the Diocese of Saskatoon, children are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession),

Confirmation, and First Communion in a single year, typically around age 7 or 8.

We are starting our preparation sessions soon.

We invite you and your child to join us.

If you have older children (ages 15+), or if your child is not yet baptized, please contact me.

Thank you for sharing your faith with your child.

Parent and Tot is a free, 2-hour program that offers, unstructured play, songs, rhymes, a story and a craft followed by snack! Then experienced care-givers play with the children while the parents (grandparents/guardians) go with the facilitator for coffee time.

Schedule for 2019-2020

Preparation Sessions are on Sundays from 10:15 – 11:15 am. We invite you to come for Mass at

9:00 am and then attend the session, or to attend the session and then join us for Mass at 11:30 am.

Parents are asked to attend the sessions along with their child.

Confirmation & First Communion (Eucharist) Preparation Sessions (10:15 – 11:15 am)

Rehearsals for Confirmation & First Communion (7:00 – 8:00 pm)

• To be announced; likely on a couple weekday evenings, 1-2 weeks prior to the celebrations.

• To be announced; likely on a few weekday evenings in late April or May.

General Requirements and Expectations 1. Child must be baptized and have proof of baptism, typically a copy of the baptismal certificate.

Further details will be given at the parent information sessions.

2. Child should be in Grade 2 or above.

3. Child and parent(s) must complete all the handouts together.

Handouts and supplies for the Preparation for Reconciliation will cost $20. Payment options will be sent out later. In January, the Preparation for Confirmation and the Eucharist will be another $40. Assistance with Sessions We have a number of members of our church who have offered to help lead the sessions. We

always really need more adults to help out. If you are comfortable leading or assisting a

small group of parents and children through the handouts, please let me know as soon as
