PRINCIPAL REPORT
Please join me in congratulating our students, their teachers and everybody involved in our
sensational school concert on Wednesday night. A special “Thank you” must go to our
dance instructor Angie for being such an inspiration and support to our students.
It is amazing to witness how our students rise to the challenges that such a production
presents with such determination, ease and fun!
A randomly selected group of 40 families will have received the 2010 parent opinion survey
for completion. I would be grateful if those families could return the surveys to school by
the indicated time.
I am also very excited to announce that the Bendigo Community Bank of Rye & Dromana
has agreed to form a community partnership with Peninsula Special Developmental School.
The Bendigo Bank will make it possible for us to install a brand new teaching kitchen facility
at the school with a financial contribution of $40,000.00 over the next for years. Fantastic
news for our school community.
Work is now rapidly progressing on our 4 new classrooms. I would like to keep reminding all
parents who drop off or collect their children at school to be cautious and mindful of the
building works that are in progress.

School Council - Update Dear Parents/Carers and members of the school community,
It’s been a busy term for school council. As most of you would be aware the position of
principal for our great school was advertised after Karen Dauncey took on a permanent
position at another school.
Well the wait is over and I am very pleased to announce that Peter Koop has been
appointed as our principal. We look forward to working with Peter in the coming years. We
wish Karen all the best in her new position.
Many thanks to the hardworking and very committed members who sat on the principal
selection panel. We can all now take a breath and together with our school community look
forward to the future.
Congratulations to Peter.
