Included in this newsletter are numerous great reports on recent school community activities that have occurred over the last couple of weeks. They include the Group 2 “Terrific Travel Trek”, Group 3’s “Bendigo Camp” and the Exiting Students “Celebration of School Life Dinner”, all of which required a great deal of planning and time commitments outside of their usual duties by many of my staff members. The students all had a ball and I offer heart-felt thanks, as I am sure all you do, to the staff for their generous efforts. Earlier this month we signed off on a 3 Stage Master Plan for the Warracknabeal Education Precinct, which reflects the 3 Government Schools commitment to an inclusive, authentic learning environment with many shared resources. We now move into the Schematic Design phase. In this phase, all the “nitty gritty” aspects of learning spaces, both internal and external, administration and amenities in designs that reflect current educational trends, are finalised. This process is timetabled to be finished by mid-January next year and I hope to be able to spend a short time at our School Concert presenting some initial designs from our Architects “Kneller Designs”. I hope to catch up to most of you at the various School Community events coming up before the end of the year. Terrific Travel Trek

On Wednesday the 9th of November, the Group 2 students set off on their terrific travel trek.

Their journey took them across Victoria using a variety of public transport including a V-Line bus to

Ballarat, a train to Melbourne, a Skybus to the airport, a Qantas Link plane to Mildura and the

Henty Highway bus home to Warracknabeal. While on their camp the students visited the Ballarat

Wildlife Park, went ten-pin bowling, ate out at the Park Hotel (near the Arch in Ballarat), explored

Southern Cross Station and Tullamarine Airport, ate out at the Pizza Café in Mildura, walked along

the Murray River to see the paddle steamers, swam in the wave pool and arrived home to family

and friends late on Friday night. Wow!

Senior School

On Tuesday 15th November we had our ‘Graduation Celebration’ for the exiting students.

We invited our parents, grandparents and family members. We had a dinner at the school. On

the menu was pre-dinner nibbles, roast turkey and vegetables and for sweets we had sticky

date puddings or pavlova. We had a presentation where we each made a speech and we got

given a mug, pen and a certificate. Liz made a slide show of the exiting students. It was a

really fun night because we got to share our celebration with our families. The graduating

students for 2016 are Callum, Jarod, Lytton, Karlee, Robert, Shinea and Talon.
