Principal’s Message

Lip Dub

I am hoping by now that everyone has seen the green

permission note for our school “lip dub” video

currently in production. Please return these

permission slips as soon as possible.

Putting it shortly, this is a big project which is being

created by some of our senior students. While the

students are creating this video, the idea is to

showcase our school. As we lock down the plan for the

video, more details will be released and community are

warmly invited to join us on the day of filming.

Carols and Thank You

Please note that the date for our “Carols on the Lawn”

event has been changed to 6pm on Thursday 13th

December. With more information coming soon, I just

want to give advanced noticed that this is a family

event, with BYO picnics.

Part of the carols event will involve a raffle. I would like

to thank Speers Point’s newest café, Custom Expresso

for donations to our raffle, along with the great support

from Pippi’s and Shoal Bay Resort.

Uniform

There is no doubt that our students look great when

they are in full school uniform. Please be aware that

the uniform includes black shoes and our school hats.

Full uniform not only looks the part, but helps students

build pride in themselves and their appearance.

Attendance

While the holidays are coming, it is important to

remember that teachers are currently completing

assessments and reports of our students. Please

support us in stressing the importance of solid

attendance as we see out the year.

Have a great week

Car Creations in KB During Term 3 and 4 students in KB have explored various materials and have also been developing an understanding of how things move. We read a fantastic book called, “Minton goes Driving” by Anna Fienberg. In this story Minton builds a car out of recycled materials. We decided it looked like a fun challenge, so we have started building our own cars. Take a look!

Gymnastics During Term 4 all students at Speers Point Public School have the opportunity to participate in Gymnastics. This program is run by a trained professional as part of the Activated Sports Program. Please don’t forget to pay each Friday! It is only $4.50 per week or $36 for the 8 weeks.

Kindergarten Orientation with the K2Bees

Over the past five Thursdays we have been very busy learning all about life at “big” school. All students have had time to meet their future Year 6 Buddies, learn the school routines and familiarise themselves with the teacher’s at Speers Point Public School. On Thursday, November 15th, 2012 all new Kindergarten families and current students from Kindergarten to Year 2 will be participating in a Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Speer’s Point Park, we hope to see you all there!
