WEEKLY MESSENGER – Monday, Dec 14, 2015
Principal’s Message
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
I wish you all a restful, safe and happy holiday while you
spend quality time with your families and friends.
In regards to the concern of the detention process, the PBS
team will work to develop a plan for a more effective
management of detention scheduling and notification of
detentions served. This new process will be reviewed during
your PLC’s in the New Year. Distrack will no longer be used
effective 12/11/15. During the last week of school prior to
the holiday break if a discipline concern arises in the
classroom and you need assistance, contact the discipline
office at 33806 (Mrs. Esh-Sheikh) if no answer, push the
Admin Emerg button on your classroom phone
Have a great week!

Important Announcements
Middle School Update 12-04-2015
There will be NO after school 21st Century Program
on early dismissal days-12/16-12/18.
~Pattie Reda (21st Century)
Beyond Differences is a non-profit organization dedicated
to ending social isolation in middle schools across the
country and creating a culture in which all kids feel
included, valued and accepted by their peers. We are excited
to share with you our No One Eats Alone initiative and
request your support in engaging your school district and
board members with a resolution to endorse our No One
Eats Alone Day on February 12, 2016 - Click here to read

No One Eats Alone, our student-led lunchtime
initiative, seeks to reverse the trends of social isolation by
asking students to engage in a simple act of kindness at
lunch – making sure that no one is eating alone. In 2015,
we had over 400,000 middle school students in over 700
schools in 38 states participate in our National No One Eats
Alone Day.
No One Eats Alone Day works because of three simple
ideas:
Students Can Improve Their Own
Communities: No One Eats Alone allows
students to make a tangible change in their own
community by making sure that everyone is
included at lunch.
Inclusive Communities are H2er Communities:
Inclusive school communities create happier
and more successful students while also
empowering youth to be agents of change.
Stopping Social Isolation Helps to Stop
Bullying: Social isolation is oftentimes the
precursor for bullying. School communities
with a culture of inclusion have far fewer
instances of bullying.
F.Y.I. There won't be students in Teen Court for the last
week before the break.
Serving with a passion,
~LU
