Week 7! The end of this term is ap-
proaching very fast. Teachers will be
starting their formal Progress Report
writing on students’ outcomes this
week. Students will be encouraged to
attend school every day to complete
set tasks in the last few weeks of the
term. These assessments will enable
all staff to make an accurate judge-
ment of the curriculum outcomes
covered over the term.
Our 9/10 students accompanied by
Terena Evans (class teacher), Kerry Taylor (LSO) and Justin Wilke
(AISSA Indigenous Secondary School Student Mentor) are on their
Canberra camp this week. They have a full program and I know
that they are very excited about the trip. For some students it will
be their first time flying and visiting another state. We believe in
investing in our students’ learning and to broaden their
knowledge about our Parliament, how it functions and the influ-
ence of decisions made on our daily lives in Australia. Students
will also be completing a HASS assessment task while on camp as
the visit places and broaden their knowledge.
The ELC building project is well on the go. Most of the demolish-
ing work has been done and the builders are now starting with
the toilets and washing facilities. We have had a wonderful re-
sponse about our ELC from the community and many expressions
of interest have been received. We only have a few vacancies left
for the 2019 intake.
Please contact the front office or visit our website for enrollment
forms and information about our ELC.

We are currently working on the budget for 2019 and our strategic
plan for the next 3 years. All stakeholders have an input in this
process to ensure that we all have ownership of our vision for the
future. Our budget focusses on our core business here at school
which is TEACHING AND LEARNING. We want the best opportuni-
ties for our students which align with our mission statement:
“Working Together Towards a Brighter Future” for all our students
at Crossways.
We have a performance on Thursday morning for the Junior
School. It is called Red Riding Robin Hood. Koonibba Primary
School will be joining our students for the performance. Students
are looking forward to this event which will start at 10 am in our
chapel room.

their way to Canberra. Thankyou to Iluka for sponsoring the
students’ flights from Ceduna to Adelaide.
Your bread tags can provide
wheelchairs for the less fortunate At Crossways we are collecting BREAD TAGS to help raise much needed funds in South Africa. We have a Container of Hope in the front office and the breakfast room and would love if families can please collect bread tags from home and bring into school to add to our collection. The bread tags will be sent to a mission in South Africa called “Bread Tags for Wheelchairs” thanks to Container of Hope!
Thankyou for your support!

Bread Tag Collection
This term Junior School Music students have been exploring digital technologies in Music. In the last few weeks, the Year 1 and 2 classes have learned some simple dances - the Maddison and a barn dance. They then created a code for each dance and taught them to the BeeBots. We all had a lot of fun with this unit!
