YEAR 9 MAP INFOGRAPHICS POSTER

MOBILE USE GROWTH

In 2019 the internet users are at 4,222 billion users and 57.3%. The internet is always changing throughout the years and getting bigger. Facebook was created in 2004 and since then there are over 2,230 million active users. There are many businesses created through the internet with low budget and people blogging.

On average, most people spend 6 hours and 42 minutes each day on their phones. The first Internet browser was created in 1993, which was Mosaic. The total population in the world is around 7.71 billion people and the amount of mobile users are 4.68 billion and growing.

The people that use their mobile phones the most are of the age 18-24 because they have work/business things going on which requires them to be on their phones. These days phones/laptops/iPads etc. are necessary for use on the go. The highest used smartphone in 2016 was from the company APPLE followed by Samsung with 32% users in the U.S.

Last year in 2018 the number of smartphones sold was 1.56 billion worldwide. This year the best smartphone goes to Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. More people are willing to buy this brand due to the marketing of this product. Parents buy the newest expensive and popular smartphone for their kids and are spoiling them.

9 ROSE ENGLISH

9 Rose continues their unit of close study of text on William Golding’s ‘Lord of the Flies’ Students recently worked in groups to complete a mini argument based around a quote they received. Each group needed to decide how their quote was represented, either through characterisation, setting or plot. Students had 30 minutes to find examples from ‘The Lord of the Flies’ and textual evidence to support their argument before presenting to the class. “A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don‘t necessarily want to go, but ought to be”. Rosalynn Carter “The statistics say that something like 65% of us will give the wrong answer just because we heard someone else say it, even if we know it's the wrong answer. The power of suggestion is very strong”

“All struggles are essentially power struggles. Who will rule? Who will lead? Who will define, refine, confine, design? Who will dominate? All struggles are essentially power struggles, and most are no more intellectual than two rams knocking their heads together." Octavia E. Butler If we can‘t separate our civilised self from our savage self which will take over and why? “Society knows perfectly well how to kill a man and has methods more subtle than death.” Andre Gide.
