THE LATIN AMERICAN INDUSTRY IN NUMBERS
THE LATIN AMERICAN MARKET
Latin America imported US $46,2 billion worth of industrial machinery and equipment in 2012, based on the 14 key product categories included in this report. Latin American imports showed a significant 17% increase in 2011 but remained stable with a 1% increase in 2012. Considering that Uruguay and Venezuela did not report 2012 data at the time of research, the growth of imports from the region should be slightly larger than the 1% reported.

SHARE Mexico is the largest single importing country in Latin America, with a significant share of 43.9 % of the total, followed by Brazil's 28.5%. Spanish-speaking Latin America imported USD $3.3 billion of manufacturing machinary, representing 71 % of the total import share in 2012. Considering that Uruguay and Venezuela did not report data for 2012 at the time of research, the share of these 9 importers should be larger.
Source: ALADI (The Latin American Integration Association). Figures represent thousands of USD Cost, Insurance, Freight (CIF.) Figures include imports from: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru.
Partial data: Uruguay (12 months 2011, Venezuela 9 months 2011 and in both cases there is no data for 2012. The rest of the countries reported full data across the board. Therefore, these figures do not reflect the overall size of manufacturing machinery imported by Latin America, and should only be used to determine global and local market trends.

E-Newsletters are the 2nd highest preferred media used by industrial professionals when procuring information on new products, processes and best practices. Like print media, e-Newsletters push new information to your potential clients to inform them about products and services they did not know about it, generating the need for a future purchase. Although some argue cluttered inboxes are diminishing the impact of e-Newsletters, users do welcome “relevant” and “timely” information, regardless of their inbox status.

Once Push media meets its objective at the early stages of the Buying Decision Process, Pull media starts to work. As potential clients find out about a new solution, they start to actively seek information among various vendors and technologies to drill-down on their Buying Decision Process. Pull Media is passive in nature, as it depends on Push Media to send potential buyers their way. But once the interest is generated, Pull Media becomes indispensable for potential buyers who use it to seek more information on the chosen products and services, remaining anonymous throughout the vendor selection process.
