What’s going on?• Graph Search allows users to search your

personal information in 40 different fields

• Users can combine any type of information into any kind of search and the result is people in various areas with various likes

• Your information could be in that search result

So, it’s time to update your privacy settings and review

your profile.

Where do I start?• Review your recent activity log and past

posts

• Review your “likes” and location check-ins

• Review your “about” section information

Terminology• Timeline = your profile

• “Likes” = brand pages and other pages you have “liked” on Facebook

• “Maps” = locations you’ve been tagged in or personally checked-in to

Reviewing Recent Activity

Shows a list of all your photos, posts, comments, likes and everything you’ve done on Facebook.

Change the privacy of your activity:– Go to your privacy settings– Click the “limit past posts” section– Change to friends, only me, or public

Change Timeline Tagging Settings

Also in your privacy settings, click the “timeline and tagging sections” from the left menu

Turning this to ON will all you to review all posts, photos, etc. you are tagged in before it goes public on your profile

Reviewing LocationsGo to the “Maps” tab on your Timeline.

Click the locations where you are tagged, see if it is public and change the privacy by clicking the icon.

Reviewing LikesEveryone has a few likes they need to get rid of

Go to your Timeline, click on your “Likes” tab– Go through favorites– Scroll down to all the years– Hover over the likes to unlike from this page– Choose if your likes are public, friends only or

only you

Your location and info can be searched

Go to your Timeline, click “About” under your photo– Go over all your information and make

changes

Just a note:• If your information is set to “friends only”

then your friends can still search your information.

• The changes in this presentation are to make sure all your information is not public.

• You can choose not to change anything.
