Going beyond theexpected.

Think of a moment in your

life when your expectationswere utterly transcended: a

celebration where everything

went exactly right, a routine

journey that suddenly became

remarkable through a surprise

encounter with a friendly face.

Life delivers these occasions

rarely. Abercrombie & Kent

delivers them every day.

I helped found Abercrombie& Kent in the belief that

travel should always surprise,

stimulate and inspire. We

don’t count on luck to exceed

your expectations: we take you

to places others can’t go and

introduce you to people who

embody the true character of

your destination.

We can do more than simply

deliver you to Machu Picchu;we can ensure you arrive

when most other visitors

have departed, leaving you

free to explore in peace.

We will even arrange for

the chief archaeologist to

accompany you through the

site, revealing its secrets as

only a true expert can.

Exceeding expectations is a

hallmark of the Abercrombie& Kent travel experience — so

much so that we’ve adopted

the phrase “& moment” to

describe those occasions when

we deliver more than you ever

thought possible.

I am proud to invite you to

join us for a new season of

unforgettable journeys.

Think safari and your mind wanders

to vast open plains, blue skies and

thousands of animals. That’s Kenya

and Tanzania. Animals from zebra

and gazelle to lion and elephant are

nearly everywhere. Familiar foods,

comfortable temperatures and a variety

of lodging options make it perfect for

independent travellers.

The fiercest of predators sharing space

with the gentlest of prey. People dressed

in traditional garb — and people

sporting the latest from the Paris and

Milan runways. This is South Africa

— diverse in landscape, wildlife and

culture. In Botswana, you are pampered

in classic African style in the heart of

Okavango Delta, and in Zambia you

can explore the unspoiled wilderness.

East or south, let A&K’s experience with

this fabulous part of the world bring you

all of Africa’s precious resources.

Three giant Pyramids rest on a blanket

of sand. So simple, yet so complex.

But there’s so much more to Egypt —

massive temples dedicated to gods and

pharaohs revered as much in death as

in life. Cruise the Nile and view the

spectacle lining the river banks. Tour

the tombs and temples and watch

a pictorial history unfold in their

hieroglyphics. These architectural

marvels have carried the mysteries of ancient Egypt down through the ages.

The legacy of Jordan transcends

time. Here you’ll find Petra, carved

from rose-red sandstone, the region’s

importance as a caravan crossroads.

And then there’s Israel: a tiny strip of

land along the Mediterranean that,

in one guise or another, has been a

historic giant for more than 2,000

years. Morocco takes visitors back to a

slower time of mint tea in cool courtyards and sun-drenched bazaars selling

everything from hand-knitted carpets

to brass platters.

Asia is an ancient land with a rich

culture that fuses old and new

harmoniously — without sacrificing

either tradition or progress. In

2009–2010, A&K brings you Asia’s

past glories and luxuriant present with

itineraries that go beyond the usual

tourist path into personal, thought-

provoking encounters.

A&K’s local connections get you

inside the less-visited (and lesser-

known) sights. In China, avoid the

crowds from the relatively quiet

and unspoiled Mutianyu section of

the Great Wall. Bypass the traffic

snarls in Bangkok by exploring this

beautiful city by boat on its quiet

(and uncrowded) network of klongs

(canals). In India, fly point-to-point

and get to your anticipated destinations

quickly, leaving you more time to savor

your journey. On the ground, have thebest local guides and as always, local

A&K support 24/7.
