Private sector to have direct interventions with Cabinet
By CASSANDRA SHAW on August 24,2011
MBABANE The business community
will on Friday have an opportunity to pose
questions to Cabinet ministers regarding
matters affecting them, including the
financial situation.
This will be through an event hosted by the Federation of
Swaziland Employers and Chamber of Commerce (FSE&CC) to
be held at the Royal Villas starting at 7am.
According to Fanele Chester of the FSE&CC, the breakfast
meeting will be attended by the Prime Minister Sibusiso
Dlamini and Cabinet ministers who include Ministerof Finance
Majozi Sithole and that of Commerce, Industry and Trade,
Jabulile Mashwama.
"The meeting is an opportunity for business owners, employers and other members of the public to
ask Cabinet directly on matters affecting the business community. It is a respectful and productive
space where important issues are discussed on a first hand basis by relevant parties," she said.
Chester explained that the agenda for the meeting was inclusive of a presentation by the PM on the
different strategies by government to mediate the current situation.
Focused
"This includes an update on the Economic Recovery Strategy and the Fiscal Adjustment
Roadmap," she added.
Also to make a presentation is Dr Greg Mills, Director of the Brenthurst Foundation after listening
to both government and business leaders deliberations.
The Brenthurst Foundations activities are focused on encouraging key decision-makers and experts
to share experiences and insights at private meetings and seminars, delivering relevant, practical
policy advice to governments; and generating new thinking and thought-leadership to address
Africas development challenges.
Interested businesses and individuals can call the FSE&CC office forbookings.
The cost is E270 per individual or E2 700 for a table of 10 while FSE&CC members pay E250 per
person or E2 500 for a table.
