Visitorswillnoticeaspring-likesettingastheyentertheExpothroughthedoorsofFentonHighSchool.“We’reproudoftheentryway,whichalsoincludesphotosofarchitecturalinterest,takenofhomesinFenton,Linden,HollyandGrandBlancareas,”saidShannon. Therecordnumberofbusinessesandgroups that signed up for booths thisyeararesayingbytheirsupportofExpothatit’sabenefittotheirbusinesstobethere.“There’snowayabusinesscouldget5,000peopletowalkthroughtheirdoorsontheirown,”saidChairmanLindaHathaway.“Weprovidethisopportunity

forthem,thenit’suptoeach individual busi-nessororganizationtoattract visitors to theirbooth.”Cheryl Fons, whoopened Spa NaturelleinFentonin2013,par-ticipated in her firstExpo last year, andwillbereturningagainthis year. “It’s a goodway for the commu-nitytolearnaboutlocalbusinesses,” she said.

By Sally [email protected]; 810-629-8282 Thisyear’sCommunityExpoissettingrecordsforthenumberofboothsbeingsetup by local businessesandcivicorganizations. “This is our largestshow ever,” saidExpoChairmanLindaHatha-way, ofBradHoffmanInsurance.“We’vesold150 booth spaces andhad to close registration earlier thanusual.” Likeeverysuccessfulevent,Fenton’sCommunityExporunssmoothlybecausenodetails are left to chance.TheExpo


The 2015 Expo sets the record for the most booths, with 150 registered.

Committee,under the leadershipofHa-thaway, and ShellyDay, of the FentonRegional Chamber, starts planning thenextyear’seventassoonasthetablesandchairsareputawayfromthecurrentyear’sExpo. “We’renot intore-creating theExpoeveryyear,”saidHathaway.“Itpromotesitself. Exhibitors come to us becausethey want to participate in this Expo.We’recomplimentedallthetimeabouthowsmoothlytheeventruns.Weknowfrom experiencewhatworks andwhatdoesn’t.” Onerecordthathasn’tbeensetyetisthe total number of attendeeswhowillvisittheExpothisSaturdayandSunday,

The Petting Zoo at the Expo is run every year by the 4-H Drovers, and sponsored by Brad Hoffman Insurance in 2015.

Local restaurants showcase their menu items for hungry expo visitors

In fact,manypeoplecometo theExpo toseepeople theyhaven’tvisitedwithinalongtime. “It’samini-reunion for lotsofExpovisitors,”saidShellyDay,executivedi-rectoroftheFentonRegionalChamber. Thisyear’sfoodvendorswillincludeCanadianSteak&Seafood,Jet’sPizza,HungryHowie’sPizza,Culver’s,BiggbyCoffee,andFunwithFrosting. “Therewillbeplentyofmenu itemsavailable, plus desserts,” said ExpoChairmanLindaHathaway.


At the Community Expo, there will be pizza, barbeque and ice cream, so plan to come to the Chamber Expo hungry.

Details: Participants must be 10 years old or older. Anyone under 18 must have a parent in the pool area to participate. (Parent does not have to get in the pool). Participants must supply a bathing suit and towel. We will be setting everyone up in scuba gear and explain the gear to you and how it works. Then you get to submerse underwater in the shallow end of the pool. Once you are comfortable in the shallow end we will take you towards the deep end of the pool and let you swim around for a few minutes.
