DEFINITION OF PBL A learning that is centres around a
problem. A pedagogical strategy for posing
significant, contextualized, real world situations and providing guidance, resources and instruction to learners as they develop content knowledge and problem -solving skills (Mayo, Donelly, Nash and Schwartz, 1993).

HISTORY Originated in medical
schools at McMaster University in Canada, late 1960s
Then three other medical schools; Netherlands, Australia, and United States took this model.
