Installing FitTrack Gold on Windows 10

Problem: Database fails to run after install on Windows 10. Error says,

“Database error has occurred. Current request has been cancelled.”

Solution: Follow the steps below before installing FitTrack Gold

Occasionally, when installing FitTrack Gold on Windows 10, the installation wizard will either fail to

complete or get locked in a loop of constantly asking for a re-boot. In that event a complete uninstall of

FT Gold may be necessary. Before re-installing follow the steps below and make sure the PC is set up

accordingly.

From the CONTROL PANEL, choose PROGRAMS AND FEATURES

Then select Turn Windows Features On or Off in the upper left corner

Then choose Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.

Placing a check in each of the boxes will initiate an installation of the proper.net for our database.

After that has finished, open the POWER OPTIONS on the Control Panel.

From this screen you should make sure all the “sleep” options are set to “Never”.

Once these settings have been changed, install the software from either the CD that came with the unit

or from the file sent to you from our secure site.

If after installing you still get a “Database error has occurred…” go to the Services utility and make sure

the SQL is running and set to “Automatic

To do this, open the Search box in your Start Menu and type in “Services”.

You should get to a screen like this:

Scroll down until you see the SQL Server (FITTRACKGOLD). It should say “Started” in the status column

and “Automatic” in the “Startup Type”

If these are blank, right-click on SQL Server (FITTRACKGOLD) and choose “Start”. This will initialize the

SQL database. Close out of this screen and re-start FitTRack Gold from the desktop.
