The vanity or sink area is often overlooked in a bathroom remodel. With wall mount options, hand holds, and simple designs, a proper vanity and mirror will provide appropriate hand washing and care for morning and evening routines.

The flexible wall mount units can also have SWING options, to provide direct access after personal hygiene. Models include height adjustable options and also docking stations, so these full – featured models can be stationary against the wall.

Toilets have several styles and heights to choose from that will allow safe transfer. The accessories around the toilet can include grab bars, support arms, or have a simple design to allow roll-over commode or shower chairs.

The bathroom can present many access challenges for people who use a wheelchair or need accommodations. Falls in the bathroom can be due to a wet floor, small spaces to maneuver, and/or bending and reaching for vanity or transfer from toilet. The ultimate goal in accessible design is to make the bathroom space safe for everyone who uses the bathroom.

The small details of grab bars in the appropriate location can prevent falls, and allow safe movements around a tub, toilet or vanity. No matter the room or situation, consider grab bars in different styles and configurations.

Door Modifications

Automatic Door OpenersThe automatic door openers can provide button access to open a door remotely. A great solution for wheelchair access, and can be added to interior or exterior doors. Several remote button options, and colors for the opener device are available.

Offset Hinges Replacing doors with a wider width can provide access thru doorways as needed. Offset hinges are also a simple method to increase width.
