Procedures We have silent transitions– this means
you should be SILENT while outside waiting for class.
You will line up outside along the wall– do not touch the doors, fire alarm case, or fire extinguisher.
When all students from the previous class have left, you will be let into the classroom. Please don’t socialize with those leaving because you hold up other from class.
Procedures When you enter class, you will go
straight to your assigned seat. Take out all needed materials for the
day and put your book bag away. You are to fill out your homework in
your agenda immediately. Then, you will start your warm up in
your notebook.
Leaving class You will push in your chair and pick up
any trash/paper on the floor. You will line up one behind another on
the side of the classroom and wait to leave.
Please make sure all your belongings are in your possession.
Please ensure you are not using this time for socialization– it holds up your classmates and my next class.
Hall Behavior Students are to stay in a straight line
and face forward at all times. Remember- you represent yourself,
your peers, and your team. You are to be respectful and behave appropriately in the halls.
You do not stop for water or the restroom without permission from your teacher.
You do not touch, write upon, or rip any thing posted on the walls– be respectful.
Emergency Procedures Fire alarms will occur once a month as mandated by the county
If you hear an alarm, you are to quickly move to your seat and await further instructions
You will line up and follow the evacuation plan
All students are to remain SILENT for the duration of any emergency drill or actual event
You will be expected to follow all directions given to you by any adult.
Food, Gum, Drinks There is no food in any class. NO FOOD. Food
is not supposed to leave the lunchroom. If this is observed, you will receive consequences.
Water bottles are more than welcome in class, however no soda, no sports drinks, no colored drinks--which is a school policy. (Propel is okay)
GUM IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE SCHOOL- I don’t care what other teachers allow you to do. You will be required to spit it out in a if you are
caught with it!
Restroom Breaks You have assigned restroom breaks with
Academic #1 & Academic #3. You also will have a chance to use the restroom
before or after lunch. This is the time you take to get water and use
the restroom. This time is not used for playing, putting on
make up, correcting your appearance. You will wait in the hall silently and in a straight
line. There is no socializing while we wait on your peers to finish.
* If you don’t have to go to the restroom- TRY!
Book bags You are allowed to carry around book bags in
your classes. Book bags are expected to stay in your
possession. They are to be placed under your chair or on
the back of your chair. You WILL NOT leave them in the middle of the floor.
If you leave anything in class, you cannot return to retrieve it until the following day.
Do NOT leave anything under or on the tables; unlike elementary school, you will not stay in a class all day.
Personal Devices You are allowed personal devices as long as
a waiver has been signed by your parent/ guardian.
Each teacher has different rules about devices- however, one rule that we all have- USE IT WISELY!
Do not leave it, do not let others use it, do not let it out of your possession. We will not stop classes because it is missing or some one you loaned it to has passed it off to someone else.
Hidden Rules1. I try to follow the golden rule–
“Treat others how you wanted to be treated!”
2. You teach me how to treat you based upon the way in which you behave.
3. Each teacher has different behaviors they deem unacceptable under any circumstance… These are mine!
Hidden RulesNo name callingDo not put your hands or objects on anyone
(even if you are playing!) No lyingDo not steal! Do not use/take/touch my possessions without
my permission. Sucking teeth– ! No hittingDon’t fight with each otherDo not yell at meDon’t interrupt, especially if I am talking with an
adultPlease do not talk while I am talking– it is rude!
Class Dojo To monitor behaviors, I use a program called
Class Dojo. You will have papers coming home so your parents can see what it is.
It is a behavior management system in which I can record your behaviors on a point system 5 to -5.
Every two weeks, students can redeem points for prizes. These prizes include candy, “No homework” passes, restroom passes, “Get out of Silent Lunch” passes, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, etc.

non-negotiable. If you lose it, you must replace it ($5)
Library Middle school students are expected to
read 30 minutes every evening. I don’t care what you read as long as you
are reading (magazine, graphic novel, etc.)
We visit the media center every two weeks. You are expected to check out a book at this time. If you forget your library book, this means you are breaking a school rule/ classroom policy and you will receive consequences.
