Minutes of the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners held Monday, March 5th, 1934, at ten o'clock A. M·

Minutes of the meetings of the Board held January 10th and 29th and February 5th ware read and approved as read.
Mrs. Maud Bryce appeared before the Board and made protest against the amount of taxes assessed against the w. H. Harrison property. It was suggested by the Board that the matter be taken up with the County Assessor if it waa felt that there had been an over-assessment on the property.
Mrs. Louise Row� appeared before the Board and asked for an order from the Board in regard to the ownership of a car whi.ch stands in her name. The Board suggested that Mre. Rowe take the matter up with the County Assessor and get his recommendation before any action by �he Board in the matter,
Mr. W. Jil. Lyen of Mancos appeared before the Board in regard t o the County purchasing a Ford pickup from the Mancos Motor Ca., said car ta be used in the Mancos district. It was move� by Mr. Philley, seconded by Mr. Porter that the Board purchase the Ford pickup, price net to be $594.28, and that warrant be drawn in favor of the Ma ncos Motor c·o. for that amount. Carried.
Owing to the fact that Spring is opening up much· earlier than usual, it was- decided that Mr. Miller should commence Prairie Dog Extermination work earlier than the time eat at the last meeting of the Board, and the Clerk was instructed ta write Mr. Miller to commence work Monday, March. 12th.
Mr. c .. R. Neal appears� before the B·aard in regard t o a reduction in taxes he wishes mads on same land that had been deeded back to him. It was explained by the Board that such action cannot be taken by the Board, and the matter was laid on t he table ..
M.rs. Bell of Mancos appeared before the Board and made request for financial ass-istanc-e in having her two girla operated upon for r emoval of tonsils. The matter was referrEd to the C \V A.
The request of Frank \'/heeler for the purch�se of a tax sale certificate was denied.
The request of Sol Lybyer in re the purchase of a ta.x sale certificate was laid on the table.
Petition of w . R. McCabe for a rebate of taxea for 1932 in the amount of $63.51 on account of having paid in full on cattle when he should have paid on half of them, they having been also assessed in Utah and taxe s paid on them in Utah.
The following claims having bee� filed against the County, same were approved and warrants were ordered drawn against the r_especti ve funds therefor:

Coultl!ty t o ascertain whether or not an ar rangement could be entered into with La Plata County whereby r-tontezuma County could employ the LaPlata. In c onsidera t i on of the delivery t o Monte zuma County within s ixty days from Nobember 1 5 , 1934 by Wil lard Whe<>ler and Wiley Sheek of 7 , 000 feet of pine bridge plank, dimens i ons 3 x 12 x 16 and 4 x 12 x 1 6 , at the saw mill to be set up by Wi llard Wheeler and Wiley Shee k in East Canon, Manc o s , C o l orad o , the s aid Mont e zuma County agrees that title to one Case engine shall pass to the said Wil lard 'ilheeler an d Wiley Sheek upon the comple tion of delivery of lumber; that t:he said Willard Wheeler and Wiley Sheek shall have poaseasion of aaid engine for use in said saw mil l , but it is agreed that in the event the said Willard Whaeler and \;\Tiley Sheek sgall fail t o make d eli very of ea.id lumber within the time specifie d , · they will return said Gase engine t o the C ounty a t its yards in Corte a , C o l o rado , without expense t o the C ounty, at once-.
