During the meeting: Identify the the problem that needs to be solved and any hurdles. Pay attention and look for things that areen’t defined or don’t make sense. Work to get them defined before you begin.
After the meeting: Do a little research into the client, work that is currently being done for them, or recently has. Also, see if the agency has recently done any projects for other clients that are similar (from any point of view).

Work on an execution for each solid idea you come up with during brainstorming. I find that an idea usually has one exicution that comes to mind first. I always start with that. However, I allow myself to move away from it as my understing of the problem or solution changes.

Surfstation
Find an inspiration site that you can check daily for interesting updates, or use an aggregator and save yourself the extra steps. See below
Qapture
Qapture is one of many Twitter aggregators that pulls feeds from many people around a particular subject.these are great because they constantly update with a ton of links and content that you would never be ableto find on your own. This is such a valuable resource when attempting to stay current in your discipline.
There are many things I don’t like about Twitter. Like knowing that someone just pooped. I don’t care. But I make it work for me by only following people that share content. Big names? TED, RGA, Big Spaceship, Cameron Moll, Joshua Davis, Modernista!, SwissMiss, Fubiz, FWA, Etc.
TED
TED is amazing. Go to TED.com and watch a new video every couple of days. you will be blown away bythe stuff being done and talked about. Most of it isn’t directly related to design, that doesn’t matter. It’s all inspiring. Sign up to the Twitter feed.
