Technica l Spec i f i cat ions N.B. These spec i f icat ions are based on the fu l l -sca le product ion staged at QPAC in September 2013. Tour ing spec i f icat ions can be deve loped in accordance wi th your venue. L ight ing wi l l require modi f icat ion to be su i tab le for tour ing.

We require from the Venue

The original production was presented in an 800 seat auditorium. For the complete set as previously staged, a minimum stage space of - 12 m wide proscenium, 12m minimum depth for and 6m minimum height. It may be possible to modify staging to suit your venue.

We are able to adapt to some degree and can talk individually with each venue to ensure we bring the best performance to your venue. 1. Venue Personnel

Pre Rig and Bump In It is our assumption that there will be pre rig for staging, lighting and audio achieved prior to our arrival. Crew numbers and hours for the pre rig to be determined by the venue. The sample schedule is dependant on lights be rigged, patched, flashed out and coloured prior to our arrival. We require venue personnel to assist with the bump in as follows:

• Audio Crew – 2 x Audio Tech for 4 hours to set up

• Lighting Crew – 4 x Lighting crew to focus and install set Electrics and pack up post show. – Number of crew and hours work required can vary as it is venue specific.

• Staging Crew – Pre-rig the legs, borders, sprung floor and black Tarkett, as per discussion with EDC Production Manager – 5 x Mechanists to unload and set the staging requirements (not including the sprung floor and masking).

Hours of work required is venue specific. – 5 x Mechanists to Pull Down and Load Truck for 4 Hours after Show

• Show Crew We require venue personnel to assist with the bump in as follows:- – 1 x Audio technician – 1 x Flyman/Mechanist – 1 x Electrician – 1 x Wardrobe person for costume maintenance (about 4 hours per day)

2. Backstage Facilities and Equipment

We require a minimum of three group dressing rooms for: – 4 female dancers – 4 male dancers – Option 1, 12 musicians – Option 2, 3-5 musicians

Shared facilities are acceptable, that is, we can utilise one male wash room with toilet facilities and one female washroom with toilet facilities, if need demands. The performers require access to chilled water for drinking and some access to tea and coffee making facilities. They require a bucket of ice backstage for rehearsals and performances.

We need access to wardrobe facilities consisting of:- – a washing machine – a steamer – an iron – a sewing machine for any maintenance

3. Audio Music for this production is played by 12 live musicians (strings) on radio mics. A backing track can be used with 3-5 live musicians (strings) as ‘Option 2’ alternative. A quality sound system is required for the successful production of this show.

– Minimum system should consist of a good quality front of house system – The speaker system would ideally be one of the following brands: EAW, L acoustics, D&B, Nexo or equivalent

(no Mackie or Peavey); – The PA must be capable of providing undistorted sound and even coverage throughout the entire venue; – Speakers should be flown, delays and front fill provided where necessary; – The sound should appear to come from the act and not from the proscenium; – The PA system should provide adequate headroom to prevent feedback problems. – Console: 24 mono channels and 4 stereo channels

(Midas XL, Heritage Series; Yamaha PM series) 4 way true parametric EQ, variable Hi pass 8 Auxiliary sends switchable Pre Post. 8 x VCA groups

If Digital console used, all on-board effect and dynamics will be used and no other external devices are necessary.

4. Lighting – Lighting Design by David Walters – Pre rig is essential to schedule – Grand Ma desk suitable (could use an MA lite) – Lighting design will be modified to suit venue specifications – Design includes 10 booms and ladders – 5 x VL3500Qs – Haze machine – Smoke machine – Dry ice machine

5. Staging

– The company can tour Tarkett and underlay – Legs and borders required to be discussed based on the venue

– The set does not move once built on stage. – Rigging of overhead lights must be completed prior to the set build. – Prompt side wall is flown into place before securing. – We require the venue to supply black tabs and a black gauze – Some flown elements are included in this production.

EDC will bring

1. The Touring Party

The touring party consists of 15 people, plus musicians:

– 8 dancers – 1 Choreographer/director – 1 Production Manager – 1 Lighting operator/realiser – 1 Stage Manager – 1 Mechanist – 1 Audio technician – 1 truck driver – Option 1, 12 musicians for full live music performance – Option 2, 3-5 musicians for partially recorded music

2. Set

– EDC can supply dance floor – EDC will supply the set

3. Lighting Design

– To be supplied once the venue is known. – The plan from our 2013 season is attached – Set electrics toured by company

4. Props and Costumes

– To be supplied by EDC

The following schedule is an example of a tour of full weeks and split weeks and illustrates the bump-in time required for this production. Please note, two shows per day is possible if the tech rehearsal can be achieved the previous day. An extra day is required for the first venue of a tour.
