Proper positioning of your headset microphone will help recipients to hear your voice clearly during calls. The ideal position is two �ngers width from the corner of your mouth, which applies to both voice tube and noise cancelling headsets. Before prolonged use of your new headset, call a colleague and adjust volume settings to ensure you can be heard clearly and consistently.
Microphone positioning
For optimum headset hygiene we recommend that voice tubes and ear cushions are replaced every six months. In the meantime you can use hygiene wipes on your headset to prevent bacteria spreading. You should also regularly wipe your headset cable, to keep it free from grease and dirt. This will prevent it from becoming brittle and causing ‘crackling’ during your calls.

Voice tube versus noise cancelling headsets
The nature of your working environment dictates which type of headset is most suitable for you. Voice tube headsets o�er a cost e�ective option; they’re less expensive than their noise cancelling equivalents and for a quiet o�ce they are the ideal solution. However, in a busy workplace, background noise can easily compromise the quality of sound. Although they’re slightly more expensive, noise cancelling headsets �lter out this background noise, so only your voice can be heard. The agent Buddy Training Switch
This device makes it easy to conduct side-by-side training sessions. There are two separate mute buttons which allow either the trainer or the trainee to easily join or leave the conversation. This device will work with most telephones and is compatible with all major brands of headset.
