TECHNICAL INFORMATIONTensile Adhesion Strength

The above values represent mean ultimate values and allowable working loads. The allowable working loadshave been reduced using a safety factor of 4.0 for tension and 3.0 for shear, however, in some cases, such aslife safety, safety factors of 10.0 or higher may be necessary.

1.

Allowable loads must be checked against steel capacity. The lowest value controls.2.Tabulated data is applicable to single anchors in normal weight concrete unaffected by edge or spacing re-duction factors. Values are valid for anchors installed into dry concrete in holes drilled with a hammer drilland ANSI carbide drill bit.

3.

Service temperatures should remain approximately constant. The maximum long term temperature being122 °F and the maximum short term temperature being 176 °F. Short term temperatures are those that oc-cur over brief intervals, for example, diurnal cycling.

4.

Linear interpolation is allowed.5.

Service Temperature Long term 40 °F (4 °C) min. / 122 °F(50 °C) max.

Short term (1–2 hours) 176 °F (80 °C)

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSSUBSTRATE QUALITY

Mortar and concrete must be older than 28 days. Sub-strate strength (concrete, masonry, natural stone) mustbe verified. Pull-out tests must be carried out if the sub-strate strength is unknown. The anchor hole must al-ways be clean, dry, free from oil and grease etc. Looseparticles must be removed from the holes.Threaded rods and rebars have to be cleaned thor-oughly from any oil, grease or any other substances andparticles such as dirt etc.

MIXING

Getting the cartridge ready1. Unscrew the cap

2. Cut the film

3. Screw on the static mix-er

4. Place the cartridge intothe gun and start applica-tion

When the work is interrupted the static mixer can re-main on the cartridge after the gun pressure has beenrelieved. If the resin has hardened in the nozzle whenwork is resumed, a new nozzle must be attached.

APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS

Anchors in solid masonry/concrete:Drilling of hole with anelectric drill to the diamet-er and depth required.Drill hole diameter mustbe in accordance with an-chor size.

The drill hole must becleaned with a blow pumpor by compressed air, starting from the bottomof the hole. (at least 2×)Important: use oil-freecompressors.

The drill hole must bethoroughly cleaned withthe special steel brush(brush at least 2×). Thediameter of the brushmust be larger than thediameter of the drill hole.

Pump approx. twice untilboth parts come out uni-formly. Do not use this ma-terial. Release the gunpressure and clean thecartridge opening with acloth.

Inject the adhesive intothe hole, starting from thebottom, while slowlydrawing back the staticmixer. In any case avoid en-trapping air. For deepholes extension tubing canbe used.

Insert the anchor with arotary motion into thefilled drill hole. Some ad-hesive must come out ofthe hole.Important: the anchormust be placed within theopen time.

During the resin harden-ing time the anchor mustnot be moved or loaded.Wash tools immediatelywith Sika® Colma Cleaner.Wash hands and skin thor-oughly with warm soapwater.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika®Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened / curedmaterial can only be mechanically removed.
