A printer is an external hardware device which produces a representation of an electronic document on physical media such as paper or transparency film. Many printers are local peripherals connected directly to a nearby personal computer and are commonly used to print text, images and photos. Some printers can print documents stored on memory cards or from digital cameras and scanners.

Printers can be classified by the printer technology they employ. The choice of print technology has a great effect on the cost of the printer and cost of operation, speed, quality and noise.

There are several types of printers, such as dot matrix printers, inkjet printers, laser printers, thermal printers or LED printers. For this project I have chosen the inkjet printer.
