A final year project by the students from the university of Adelaide:

• This new eco-friendly vehicle is called Electric Diwheel With Active Rotation Damping or simply Edward , and it is using the same idea as a monowheel, but unlike the monowheel, Edward has two wheels that allows the driver to keep balance at all times. In addition, Edward is capable of gerbiling effect so the driver can easily rock back and forth during hard braking or fast acceleration. Of course, the research team behind Edward has been working hard in order to minimize this by using built-in dynamic lateral stability and slosh control. Thanks to these features you can even drive Edward upside down, but you can also turn these features off if you don’t fancy that.

Look at objects around you. Can you tinker around and modify these to make them more efficient and relevant?

Air swimmers:• Air Swimmers swim through the air with incredibly smooth and life-like

motion. These amazing fish provide hours of remote control indoor fun in even the smallest of rooms (not for outdoor use). They require only four AAA batteries (one in the body, three in the controller) and have complete up, down and 360 degree turning control.

• Simply fill your Air Swimmers with helium inexpensively at any party store, florist shop, or grocery store that carries balloons. The body is made from a high quality, durable nylon material that will stay inflated for weeks! You can fill it again and again. Remote control has never come to life so magically!

Science + Inspiration = Hope

Qian Hongyan at age 3 had a car accident and lost both legs, but her will to live overcame all the difficulties that this "injustice" gave her. To ensure her survival, the doctors were forced to amputate both her legs. Because her family was poor and couldn’t afford prosthetic legs, she had to use a basketball and wooden hand trowels to move around. 15 year old Qian Hongyan, who was forced to use half a basketball as her prosthetic body, has inspired millions with her ambition to compete as a swimmer in the 2012 Paralympics in London.
