2006Tim Mobbs, a second generation electrician founded M-Elec, initially operating out of a small shed at the back of his property.

2008M-Elec builds an LED profile with an opaque diffuser, which is installed into Australia’s first purely LED commercial application.

2010In 2010 we released the first wide beam, dimmable LED downlight when all others had narrow 35 degree beams, terribly designed lenses and multiple LED’s showing. We introduced simple things like adding interchangeable trims and then in 2015 released the 1Box solution with 3 colour outputs and 2 trims in the one box.

2015M-Elec wins a Good Design Award for the unique packaging of 'downlight in a bag’ made to aid cleanup and reduce waste.

2016M-Elec releases it’s first version of the NOX series with great success due it’s exceptional lumen output, offset bracket and efficacy.

2017M-Elec launches the revolutionary tool-less plugbase the Blindsnake. Blindsnake wins a red dot design award the same year.

2017Always pushing further the team at M-Elec expands on the Blindsnake technology and launches the Rapid 10 downlight.

2019M-Elec is moving into the automation and smart technology market with a new product called Stitchy set for release mid 2019. Keep your eyes peeled.

2018In an effort to better serve our customers our old PLI system was given a revamp and became M-World. M-World is rapidly expanding to offer our customers, an easy to use platform for warranties, assets, resources, education, an open community to discuss all things M-Elec and more.

2018The XC Connector and connector system is launched. A great example of our innovations being created specifically to make electricians lives easier. The XC (eXchangeable Connection) system is just that, a system created to make connection type the installers choice. Meaning replacing drivers and using the right connection for the job are that much easier. Do your job your way.

Changes to our warranties

When I was an apprentice working for my father, he always taught me to ensure we protected our family name, it was our business name and future. Every product we develop, sell and release we want to ensure that our customer feels confident in using the product and is protected by the guarantee that if the product doesn’t function then the product should be replaced, repaired or upgraded. That’s why M-Elec has decided to provide a new warranty structure

that will increase the warranty period on our product ranges.

NEW LOOK CATALOGUE

At M-Elec we lead the way and question every facet of our business to ensure the highest quality and efficiency. We noticed the amount of waste involved with our old larger product catalogues (that took months to prepare and used a lot of paper) were thrown away after a short while. As well as being wasteful, the industry moves at such a rapid pace that an annual catalogue is almost immediately outdated due to the amount of new products we periodicly release. For these reasons, we decided to re-design our catalogue, and bring them out more than once a year. They are designed to feature our latest products & updates and provide an easy to digest overall view of our existing products. Full specifications are still online and a digital version of this catalogue is also available for download.
