The upper end of the specimen is mounted in the bearing-strength test fixture and the lower end is clamped in parallel-clamping grips. ASTM versions The upper end of the bearing-strength test fixture is clamped in specimen grips. The upper end of the specimen is mounted in the bearing-strength test fixture and the lower end is clamped in parallel-clamping grips. Alternatively the fixture can also be mounted at the top as per ASTM D5961 Method A. Advantages and features • Easy specimen change. • Devices can be used over a wide temperature range (-55°C to 250°C). • Fast changeover from AITM to ASTM - self-aligning tension grips can also be used with the ASTM fixture.
