Advantages and customer benefits

• High-precision, redundant measuring elementsThe TAD temperature sensor has two high-precisionand long-term stable measuring elements that guar-antee the safety and quality of your process.

• Standardised analogue signal plus additionaldiagnostic outputThe temperature-proportional 4...20 mA signal en-ables processing via all common controllers and allowsscaling for the respective temperature range. An additional output provides the information “driftwarning threshold reached” or “drift alarm thresholdreached”. The respective thresholds can be presetindividually using software. ifm guarantees a reliabledrift detection within the preset drift thresholds for aperiod of 5 years!

• Backup functionThe analogue output provides an output signal thatrepresents the average of both measuring elements. When one sensor element fails, either the analogueoutput is automatically switched to the still func-tioning measuring element or an alarm can be gener-ated. The behaviour in case of a measuring elementfailure can be configured individually using software.

• Integrated hygienic connectionThe integrated ASEPTOFLEX adapter thread (TAD161,TAD961) enables hygienic connection to all commonprocess adapters. As an alternative, a version withG 1/2 thread (TAD171, TAD971) and the correspondingwelding adapter is available. The shape of the probeand the temperature decoupling allow cleaning (CIP)and sterilisation when mounted (SIP).

• High protection ratingThe completely sealed housing guarantees protectionrating IP 69 K. The selected design reduces the build-upof dirt and can be cleaned all round.

• Parameter setting The measured values can be displayed via the optionalprogramming set and the parameters, e.g. scaling ofthe analogue output, threshold for drift warning anddrift alarm, etc. can be optimised for the process orthe application.
