Purpose :

The I-clicker is used by the students in auditorium or meeting hall to communicate to their tutors during multiple choice

Quizzing and also to provide feedback as to how the lecture has been progressing and the main purpose is to track the

Presence of student and his involvement in the lecture.

The IR clickers had backfired because of many issues such as short range of coverage, the unavailability of multiple

frequencies and the delay in responses. The issues have been sorted out effectively and it is quite evident with regard

to features incorporated into it.

Operation and Features:

The I Clicker is a new revolutionary aspect of wireless interface of two devices i.e. essentially the remote access to lecture

and the connectivity to the computer.

The I clicker is essentially easy to use and effective to operate hand held device. The operation involves :

1. Portable hand device allows students to choose the appropriate choice.

2. The connection to computers USB port which collects the voting stats of students which is nothing but

polling.

3. The storage facility to record the response of students and show the relative ratings by using high definition

graphical GUIS.

4. The Results are also available for later analysis by transferring them to Grade Book software such as

Microsoft excel.

5. There is technique of frequency allocation where in the instructor provides the 2 digit code to be entered to

attend the lecture.

HARDWARE FEATURES:

Frequency of operation : operates at 915 MHZ in Wi- fi environment.

Range : 200 – 300 feet.

Capacity : 1500 votes per second.

Buttons and display : FIVE BUTTONS NAMELY A,B, C,D,E which are useful

during opinion polls

Three LED indicators power, low battery and vote status (green light flash indicates the vote has been casted and Red light indicates vote needs to be recasted).

The display used is high definition LCD display for better view and adjustment.

Weight : 3 ounces /85.05 grams for remote and 12 ounces for receiver.

Power source : 3 AAA batteries and computer USB connection.

Battery Saving : It shuts down after 90 minutes if voting is done and in 5

minutes if unused.
