Introduction During operational use, Moodsonic Sound Generators (“MSGs”) are typically managed entirely remotely via IP connection to a management server. Typically, MSG units can be installed into a network with zero software and network configuration.

During normal operation and installation there are no front panel connections required. The exception to this is if a static IP address needs to be set for the device, the device needs to be re-named or the mac address is required for network ident. This is achieved via the front panel internal LAN socket. (Refer to the Moodsonic Installation and Usage Manual at https://www.moodsonic.com/setup )

Multi-channel MSG units provide internal network routing and multiply redundant PSUs to make installation of multiple channels more independent of host IP networks, power supply and cooling conditions.

Network LAN requirements The Moodsonic Sound Generator is designed to operate with an IP connection that can access a cloud-based CMS and device management server (DevMan). It does not require firewall exceptions or any incoming ports to be opened as it initiates connections to the DevMan using normal web browsing protocols.

Connection to a location’s WAN requires a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable to the rear panel.

Specific protocols and requirements for standard WAN connections are:

Addendum data and security  Data security and privacy policy

● Limited user information or network privileges are required and stored in TSA’s systems:

○ User sign in details are stored securely on a single Moodsonic DevMan* server and backup system.

○ No client LAN/WAN credentials or exceptions are needed by MSGs

○ MSG device and Devman UI access from client’s premises do not require 3rd-party VPN networks or related software and exceptions to be hosted on client computers or servers

● Environment sensed data communicated from on-premises MSG devices is limited to:

○ Local device UI Mute/Unmute/volume and Moodscape selections on dashboards.

○ Device Uptime and downtime (e.g. power and network outages)

○ Microphone amplitude only optionally communicated outside of the on-premises devices for installation and ongoing maintenance.

○ Audio/soundscape generation processor CPU temperatures

● All client communications over the public internet are encrypted and mutually authenticated, so that users and MSG devices can only ever communicate with the intended targets without the possibility of eavesdropping.

● Multi-factor authentication is required for all administration accounts sign-ins in addition to optional white listing of specific source network locations.

 Networking and security technologies

● MSG devices connect only via Ethernet (RJ45) network connectivity including IPv4 DHCP and static IP address configuration.

○ No other peer2peer local device networking is supported as standard to maintain security on non-secured LANs.

● Firewall-friendly IP operation with trusted public certification authority authentication using standard HTTPS />=TLS1.2 communications.

○ no port forwarding for inbound IP connections required

○ No unusual outgoing port types re used (HTTPS’s standard port 443 only)

○ No VPN client ports or management packet exceptions required or agent software running on client’s systems.

● Secure IP-based content distribution and management using >= TLS v1.2 with mutual authentication and data encryption.

○ Admin and (optionally) dashboard access can be further authenticated with browser installed client certificates.

Product Specifications MSG-100 | Page 11

○ All devices are mutually authenticated with their appropriate servers to avoid spurious access from other servers or unprovisioned devices.

● IP-based device and content management features are all secured with appropriately tiered authentication levels to maximize security and usability:

○ Admin-level accounts with IP address source white listing, multi-factor sign-in and browser TLS certificates provides access to:

■ Player activity and playout monitoring and logging

■ CPU Temperature and PSU voltage logging

■ MSG local storage management

■ Analogue signal amplitude levels (optionally including Mic. Levels).

○ Local Content dashboard access is limited by browser certificates and typically single factor sign-in authentication is appropriate for access to the following MSG playout features:

■ Current content name being played

■ Curated content options that can be selected for local devices

■ Volume and mute settings.
