Procedure1. Have customer thread one nut on to a bolt.2. Thread nut to end of bolt.3. Apply threadlocker to the middle threads.4. Thread nut to treated area.5. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.6. It typically takes 1 hour for product to be fully “locked in”, however the nut

should be adhered to the bolt.7. Ask customer to try and unfasten bolt; bolt should be very snug or locked

in, depending on temperature.

Optional Procedure1. Ask customer if they have any loose fasteners they would like to try the

product on.2. Apply product to threads of fastener.3. Secure bolt in threadlocker treated area.4. Allow product to sit for 10 minutes.

* If using Blue Threadlocker, threads can be “cracked” using a wrench; if using Red Threadlocker, it will require special tools and equipment to crack the threads.

What does this demo show?This demonstration shows how threadlocker locks in fasteners. They are used to prevent failure when threaded fasteners disassemble themselves as a result of vibration, heat, impact, and/or inadequate locking devices. Chemical threadlockers are a recommended alternative to locking hardware.

BenefitsPolylube 255 is a clean, transparent lubricant with excellent penetrating and adhesive properties. The adhesive strength insures that when properly applied, the lubricant will stay in place and resist throw-off, wash-off and high-pressure vibrations. Polylube 255 adheres tenaciously under the most severe conditions. It will not pull off gear teeth, chain linkage, rollers, sprockets, etc. A unique rust preventative additive coupled with a combination of lubricants makes this formula rust and corrosion resistant, as well as being able to service a wide temperature range (-30° F to +500° F). Procedure1. Using a metal panel held vertically, spray a small amount of gel lubricant

onto the panel at the very top.2. Observe how fast the formula sets up and forms the gel consistency, that

penetrates and protects. 3. As the solvent evaporates quickly, spread the formula around the surface of

the panel and explain the features and benefits. 4. Now attempt to wash away the gel lubricant under the velocity of a hot and/

or cold water spigot. It won’t wash off! It even has reasonable resistance to removal by solvent spray.

What does this demo show?This demonstration shows that Polylube 255 is an extremely sticky gel lubricant that sprays out thin and sets up quick to penetrate and protect.

Procedure1. Hold the demo plate flat and spray a small amount, about the size of a

quarter, onto the plate.2. Tilt the plate and point out that the foaming cutting oil is foamy; pointing out

that it dissipates heat quickly.3. When it changes from foam to a thin fluid, and can run the full length

of the plate, point out that this allows it to flow quickly to the cutting area to cool and lubricate.

4. Turn the can upside down and spray onto the plate, pointing out that thisproduct can be used from any position.

What does this demo show?This demonstration shows how Clean Cut’s foamy action clings to most surfaces at any angle, allowing it to cool cutting tool temperatures and increase the smoothness of the cut.

Several days prior to sales call, spray rusted surface with Rust-Kon.3. Begin by removing loose rust particles with a rag or brush.4. Shake can for 30 seconds.5. Hold can 8-12 inches from surface; apply a thin coat of Rust-Kon in a

sweeping motion over half of the area.6. Allow to dry. Treat surface a second time.7. The surface will turn gray/black.8. Allow at least 48 hours for surface to fully cure (for best results).

surface being cleaned and lifts it (brings it to the surface) so it can be wiped or rinsed away.

5. After wiping or rinsing, show that the surface is clean and film free.

Butyl solvent is a very good penetrator of grease and oil; it is not a very good emulsifier. Butyl-based products are very good for heavy-soil applications.

Degreasing Automotive Parts: 1. Dilute 1:3-1:5 with hot water and rinse well. 2. Allow extremely oily surfaces to soak for 15-20 minutes and rinse

well with a strong stream of water.

Convertible and Vinyl Tops: 1. Dilute 1:1-1:5. 2. Using a stiff brush, scrub area thoroughly and

rinse well with water.

Whitewall Tires: 1. 1:1-1:5, depending on severity of soil. 2. Spray solution onto tires and let stand for

DescriptionNatural citrus water-based cleaner degreaser, drain cleaner, and deodorizer concentrate. This multi-purpose cleaner strips grease and heavy oil deposits from virtually any surface.

TO CUSTOMER

Materials • 2 clear containers• Dirty oil• Sample of butyl-based degreaser

Procedure1. Put 1/8” of Mr. Orange and 1/8” of butyl degreaser into clear containers

(empty water bottles work great). 2. Add water to achieve approximately 30-to-1 ratio. 3. Add 10 drops of dirty crank case oil to each container and stir. Notice how

the oil added to the Mr. Orange solution is emulsified (it becomes part of the cleaning solution). The oil in the butyl-based solution does not emulsify and quickly comes to the top of the cleaning solution.

4. Now dip a paper towel into the container holding the butyl based cleaner. Notice how the oil remains on the surface of the towel. If this were a mop head, you would spread this oil back onto the floor.

5. Then dip the paper towel into the container of Mr. Orange. Notice how the oil is absorbed into the towel and not left on the surface. Also point out the fresh citrus scent.

Non- butyl products are very good emulsifiers, therefore work very well on lighter soil in mop bucket and auto scrub applications. Heavier soils often require the penetration that a butyl-based cleaner can provide.

ShopPro® VS. COBALTShopPro® drills will substantially outperform cobalt drills in work hardening stainless steel applications. This performance advantage is the result of construction differences between the two types of drills. Cobalt drills, manufactured to Type J NAS 907 specs, have a very thick web. This web is necessary to limit breakage of the brittle cobalt steel. ShopPro® drills are made of special hi-moly tool steel, which is much tougher than cobalt steel. The web on a ShopPro® drill can be thinned considerably due to the toughness of the steel. A ShopPro® drill with its thin web will penetrate the work hardening stainless fast enough to continually cut beneath the chip which is hardening from deformation. This means the drill is cutting softer steel. The cobalt drill, with its thick web, cannot be fed at a fast enough rate to cut beneath the area which is hardening. As a result the cobalt drill is continually drilling into hardened steel.

STAINLESS STEEL WORK HARDENING VS. FREE MACHININGWork hardening grades of stainless are the 300 series with the exception of 303, which is free machining. Free machining grades include the 400 series in addition to type 303. A quick way to identify work hardening versus free machining stainless is to observe the chip formation. Work hardening chips break up during the drilling process, while free machining chips are long and stringy.

COBALT APPLICATIONSCobalt drills are recommended for free machining stainless (400 series and 303), titanium alloys and other high tensile strength materials. These applications require the high red hardness of cobalt steel to counter the substantial heat generated in the drilling process.

ShopPro® VS. COBALTA ShopPro® drill with its thin web will penetrate the work hardening stainless fast enough to continually cut beneath the chip which is hardening from deformation. This means the drill is cutting softer steel. The cobalt drill, with its thick web, cannot be fed at a fast enough rate to cut beneath the area which is hardening. the weld looks. Note how well the bond line looks and how well the 220MS ties into the material. On thinner material, flip it over and show the customer how well the weld penetrates the material.

6. Have the customer weld with the 220MS themselves. Have every welder try it on both mild steel and galvanized steel. Put some anti-seize on either metal and have them weld through it. Be careful not to use any materials that would explode. Stick to the demo.

7. Tell the customer to keep the electrode resting on the metal once he has started to arc. Keep the electrode at a 45° angle to the surface of the metal.

8. This is a good time to mention how easy it is to use the product as they weld. Have them try to weld in all different positions. As well as how it doesn’t roll out of where it was welded.

9. After the weld cools, show them how easily the slag knocks off with the chipping hammer, revealing the perfect weld underneath.

10. Be sure to mention that 220MS comes in MIG and TIG rods.

CloseAsk which diameters they use and what type of machine they use it on. Quote them on every style they use, electrode, MIG and TIG. Many customers use all 3 in the same shop, depending on the application. Make sure to have prewritten the order. Show the customer how the standard packaging comes. Try to have shown the other electrodes in the industrial assortment, so that you can close on the assortment that contains them all. Always sell assortments with a cabinet. First sell the normal assortments, then do custom it assortments with a bin. Just add $85 to the cost of all the individual items totaled up to get the cost of the custom kit. This must be done to create a check stock situation where you can resell each month. Without a cabinet, the customer cannot know whether they need to be restocked.

DescriptionWinzer Star Shield Heat-Resistant Compound is asbestos free, easy to mold, dual-purpose material used for insulating and positioning parts for welding, soldering or brazing. Star Shield shapes like putty and will not burn, crack, melt, swell or interrupt alignment. In addition to its uses as a “temporary vise”, Star Shield protects plastics, rubber, glass and paint from the effects of heat and withstands temperatures to 3,000˚F. Star Shield also reduces distortion when welding light gauge such as stainless steel.

Materials • Star Shield Heat Barrier – (686.6.2)• A piece of stainless steel is best by far, Carbon steel is ok. Metal should be

about 3” wide x 1/4” thick x 12” long• Oxy/acetylene torch• Welding gloves• Cup of cold water

Procedure1. Put the Star Shield Heat Barrier on just one side of the stainless steel. Make

sure that you have the Star Shield all the way across the width.2. Hold onto one end of the stainless steel, the end opposite the side you will

heat up. Be very careful not to touch the hot side.3. Heat the side opposite your hand to a red hot temperature. Then turn

the torch off and dump cold water on both sides of the Star Shield so the customer can see the torched side steam and the other be cool.

CloseMake sure to have prewritten the order. Show the customer how the standard packaging comes. Can sell this as an add on to welding orders at $55 to $75.
