A new era of DzireThe all-new Dzire - an incredibly stylish and comfortable sedan in a compact body. With exceptional fuel economy and a spacious interior, the Dzire is a formidable contender in the compact sedan vehicle category. Distinctly attractive from every angle, the new Dzire is simply breathtaking. Its dynamic, low and wide stance not only looks good, but also results in better handling and stability, while its flowing character lines exude a sense of speed.

A Message from Masao Kobori - Chief Engineer

The Swift Dzire, the best selling B-Segment sedan* in the world, has evolved to make its number one position unshakable with features that overwhelm its competitors. To achieve this, we developed the new Dzire, placing great importance to three goals:

1. An appealing sedan styling you would not expect in a compact dimension of less than 4 metres in length. 2. Interior room and versatile equipment designed in pursuit of comfort for both the front and rear occupants. 3. Adoption of new-generation platform “HEARTECT” including a new chassis and powertrain, with a new body structure, in order to realise exceptional fuel efficiency.

Differentiation from the hatchback model is not enough in the current Swift Dzire. This has been enhanced in the new Dzire, not just in looks but in the name, too. The third generation model will make its debut as the “Dzire”. I am confident that the new Dzire will enthrall a wide range of customers with its versatile usage for family, business and other purposes with its compact body for easy maneuverability.

Authentic Sedan The design concept of the Dzire accentuates a signature sedan style with its sleek and elegant lines. Its flowing lines with finely crafted accents truly give it an authentic sedan image.

Side profileThe roofline and cabin flows smoothly from the sharply slanted A-pillar to forward the forward sloping C-pillar. The side profile expresses a sense of motion, giving the Dzire a sleek character.

Front designThe front incorporates a wide open grille with an aggressive bumper that complements the sporty sedan styling. The increased overall width emphasises the boldness of the lower body and the compact cabin.

Rear designThe rear styling features a diffuser-like bumper which catches the energy from the front and expressive side character lines.

Exterior Styling

Exterior dimensionsIn order to maximise interior space, the Dzire features a 20mm longer wheelbase in comparison to the previous model. The body is 40mm wider and 40mm lower and accentuates the Dzire’s bold appearance. Not only does it result in improved interior space, but also enhances driving stability.

Front grilleThe iconic polygonal front grille sports a wide open design. Matched with flared fins on the front bumper, it perfectly fits with the authentic sedan styling.

Fog lampsThe front fog lamps improve the visibility in dense fog. It is housed within the flared bumper fins.

Rear combination tail lampsThe Dzire comes with energy efficient LEDs for the tail and brake lamps, equipped with a light guide rod and inner lens in the tail lamp to produce an evenly lit L-shaped signature line.

Exterior Styling

Solid from the ground upThe “HEARTECT” next-generation platform features a high-rigidity frame that contributes to crash safety, and the frame’s continuous and smoothly curving shape with fewer joints effectively disperses impact energy in the case of a collision. The lighter platform, made so by a reduction in the number of required reinforcements, and the abundant use of light, high-tensile steel combine to enhance both fundamental vehicle performance in terms of running, turning and stopping and fuel consumption performance.

Easy maneuverabilityUse of the new platform allowed for a wider turning angle, resulting in a turning radius of only 4.8m.This enables small turns for easier maneuverability on narrow streets and in tight parking spaces, for a more-pleasant overall driving experience.

Dynamics that inspire confident drivingAs part of “HEARTECT”, a newly designed suspension, both up front and in the rear, underpins a nimble and emotion-heightening driving experience, providing both the linear steering control and ride quality that is solid, yet supple and comfortable. Tracking performance and response, for better negotiating turns and curves, and straightway stability have been sharpened for even greater joy in driving.

Light and highly rigid body for nimble and agile driving and good fuel economy

Extensive use of high-tensile steel and ultra-high-tensile steel, such as in the upper body and underbody, achieves both lightness and high rigidity for enhanced driving performance and excellent fuel performance.

Smooth power delivery, excellent efficiencyThe Dzire’s 1.2-litre petrol engine offers the best of both worlds: high output and good fuel economy. Despite the engine’s small displacement, its high compression ratio results in better thermal efficiency for powerful driving. Knocking, which can result from high compression, is suppressed by the it’s augmented cooling performance.

For good fuel economy without sacrificing output and torque, fuel combustion has been enhanced, friction has been reduced and efforts have been made to make the engine light and compact.

The 5-speed manual transmission balances fuel efficiency and dynamic performance. Equipped with a convergent locating system which increases suction for a better shift feel, the driver can enjoy light and precise gear shifts.

The 5-speed automated manual transmission is based on a 5-speed manual transmission that uses an automated gear shift actuator that operates the clutch and gear shifts automatically. Not only does it deliver superb fuel efficiency, but also much improved performance when compared to conventional automatic transmissions. This transmission also features a “creep” function, for easier driving in traffic or whilst parking.

Aerodynamic performance

Fully employing CAE (computer-aided engineering) from the design development stage and submitting clay models and prototypes to exhaustive wind tunnel tests, led to the achievement of exceptional aerodynamic performance - An 18% reduction in wind resistance.

Dynamic Drivability

Uniquely designed, driver inspired cabin The elegant sedan styling flows harmoniously into the spacious cabin. The interior mirrors the exterior by following the same polygonal design, enhancing the authentic sedan styling. A touch of silver accents in a black interior adds a touch of exclusivity.

Easy-to-read and stylish meter cluster

The meter cluster is beautifully designed and is easy-to-read. A multi-information display shows the fuel consumption, driving range and trip data in real time. The GL has a tachometer and illuminated in premium white light with silver accent highlights.

Audio system

The audio system utilises a high contrast LCD panel for clear visibility. In addition to an AM/FM Radio, MP3 CD player there is Bluetooth, USB and auxiliary connectivity accessible via rounded connecting point next to the 12V power socket.

Manual airconditioning

Manual airconditioning with pollen filter is standard on all model variants of the Dzire. Simple rounded controls for operational convenience.

Smart Packaging

Comfort and style with space to spareSmart packaging of the Dzire demonstrates easy-to-handle compact dimensions and expanded storage capacity, resulting in a better utilisation of space in the vehicle.

Tandem distanceThe tandem distance (gap between front and rear seats) of the Dzire is expanded by 55mm compared to the previous model, increasing legroom for rear passengers.

Supportive front and rear seats The optimised springs, seat cushion and bolsters enhance the tide comfort with better fit and shock absorption. The increased tandem distance provides more leg room and superior seating comfort. The high grade seat upholstery fabric comes with a riverside willow pattern in the GL models and a diagonal dotted pattern in the GA models.

Driving piece of mindThe new Dzire comes standard with a host of active and passive safety features such as ABS, which helps prevent wheel lock during emergency braking for better stability, occupant-protective SRS airbags, a pedestrian injury mitigating body, and ISOFIX across all variants.

Light, impact-absorbing body: Total Effective Control Technology (TECT)Suzuki’s light, impact-absorbing TECT body has evolved through the use of a new platform and computerised structural analysis. Not only does the body efficiently absorb and disperse energy in the event of a collision, it also widely employs high-tensile steel and ultra-high-tensile steel to achieve both lightness and excellent safety performance.

ISOFIX child seat mountsAll variants of the new Dzire features ISOFIX child seat anchor points as standard.

ABS brakes with EBDABS is a system that detects the rotation of each wheel through the use of sensors attached to the four wheels and automatically and optimally controls braking force.It prevents the tires from locking, which can easily occur in sudden braking or on slippery surfaces, and heightens the driver’s ability to avoid obstacles through steering. Furthermore, EBD (electronic braking-force distribution) optimally distributes front and rear braking force to help stably stop the vehicle.

NOTE : Active safety systems like ABS and EBD help to prevent a crash or collision by assisting the driver to maintain control of the vehicle.

NOTE : Passive safety systems like TECT, airbags and seatbelts with pre-tensioners help to protect occupants during a collision.

Smart Safety

Occupant-protective SRS airbag system for collision safetyThe Dzire is equipped with both driver and front passenger SRS Airbags to provide additional protection during a frontal collision. “SRS” refers to Supplementary/Secondary Restraint System and provides additional protection over and above that which is offered by a seatbelt. Seatbelts are referred to “PRS” namely Primary Restraint System and provide the first, and most vital protection, by ensuring that the occupant is in the optimal position if the airbag is deployed.

Injury mitigation body for pedestrian safetyPedestrian safety has been thoroughly considered through the use of an impact absorbing front bumper, bonnet and cowel top - designed to mitigate pedestrian head and leg injuries in the event of a collision.
