PRODUCTION DIARY

CLARE, MAISIE AND TOBYIMPACT

MONDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays lesson we were put into our groups for our main media project. We had some time to bond with our group members and then we all had to individually come up with an idea for a film opening. We then had to create a presentation on our ideas. This was in order for everyone’s opinions to be heard and also so that there were 3, or more in some groups, ideas to choose from.

TUESDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays meeting we all presented our individual film pitches to one another. We then asked each other questions about the film ideas and evaluated all of them. We decided to merge Clare and Maisie’s ideas together as they were similar and we thought we could include a lot of detail within the icons when filming. We decided that in our next meeting we would create a presentation for our new film opening. Overnight we contacted each other with different ideas we could include.

THURSDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays meeting we made a presentation including genre, audience, our idea and film influences. We all participated when making our film pitch and the group co-operated well. We listened to potential songs that we could include in our film and chose the best suited one. We took photographic evidence of us planning as a team.

FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays meeting we presented our film pitch to our fellow class mates explaining our film idea. Then they each filled out a feedback form giving us constructive criticism on what we need to improve on to make our film opening better. We collated them in and looked through them then wrote a blog post on our main points of improvement.

MONDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays meeting we planned out the job roles within our group. We decided that Toby Lee would be the director, camera man and co-editor, Maisie smith would take the role as producer and music/sound engineer, Clare Kelly would take the role a group leader, editor and writer. We then created a mood board for our film and wrote blog posts on our target audience, props and sound.

FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2015In todays meeting we started editing the whole film opening, putting different shots together and making difficult shots like the cutaways and match on action shots join together seamlessly. We also went to the recording studio to record the voiceover of the main character and the extras saying nasty insults so that they could be put over the top of the shots.

THURSDAY 3RD DECEMBER 2015In todays meeting we continued editing and worked on our film for quite a long time so that the first draft was able to be completed for the deadline. We did some research for the fonts and colours that we wanted our titles to be and also what production companies we wanted our film to open with.
