Institution Logo – 12/01/15

0 Today, we filmed and edited our first institution logo. We worked form the idea of things being written in dust and blown away. We also wanted to edit our clip into black and white, to fit more with the theme of the opening and be more typical of the genre. The fact that the logo is made only of four letters put together and does not have an explanation of what they stand for creates enigma for the viewer.

0 This task enabled me to trial one of our original ideas for our institution logo, this task was very beneficial as our first institution worked well and conveys certain stereotypical genres of a thriller movie.

Feedback from our draft footage – 13/01/15

0 To get our feedback on our draft footage, we ask three teenage girls from our school to view our media opening draft so far, by doing this we managed to ask them questions about our production and this helped us to see how we can improve on our first draft.

0 By doing this task, it has enabled us to consider from our feedback how to improve our first draft, therefore making our draft more stereotypical.

The Ninth Wall - Title for our opening – 14/01/15

0 We have decided that our original agreed title name Hit & Run doesn't suit our thriller genre as well as we first thought, this is to the fact that one group member thought that this particular title sounded comical and like The Simpsons phone game, which gave it connotations of humour and animation which is totally opposite to the genre we are trying to convey to our audience.

0 This task was beneficial as it enabled me to think of different connotations for our new title, therefore making it link to our genre better than our original title.

Filming Stars – 14/01/15

0 In our opening we will have three characters who appear on screen, these are the Hit-man himself, the female boss (the dispatcher) and the corpse of the person who the Hit-man has just killed

0 This task helped me to consider the three characters in our opening in more depth, from looking at each character individually in more depth, I am now more confident that the background information behind each character will work well with the connotations surrounding of that particular character.

Feedback 2 – 16/01/15

0 Today, we asked different genders and ages to watch our draft and to tell us what they like and what they thought we could improve upon. By conducting our research on different genders and ages, we have therefore gathered opinions on a variety of ages, which we can therefore determine our target audience as a result from this.

0 This task helped me to think more in depth about how aspects of our draft would appeal to both teenagers and adults of different genders. Therefore, from looking at this we can now discuss in our group, what target audience we think our film opening would appeal to, discussing elements which represent that particular target audience throughout our opening, e.g. teenagers - the use of foley sounds creates tension and as a result of this it will leave our potential teenage audience on the edge of their seats.
