If you are to go into business, one of the skills that you must master is PLANNING. To plan is to determine in advance future goals and activities to undertake. A good business plan clearly defines the business you wish to engage in, how you envision to undertake the business, how much income you wish to gain, and how long you expect to realize such gains.

Firstly, it prevents you from going into the wrong business. As you prepare the business plan, you will see whether the business will generate enough profits or not.

Secondly, a good plan allows you to prepare for possible causes of failure in the business. You will be able to foresee possible effects of competition, and therefore take concrete steps to ensure that you capture the customers before others do.
