We use Photoshop to do the front cover, it was easy to do and easier to learn.

I chose white as the colour of my title because with the picture I was using it would stand out more, but I wanted it to stand out more then this.

I wanted to make the title a lot bolder then it was, so I added effects to it they were stroke, and bevel & emboss. This made the title stand out, which meant that it was going to be easier to read by the audience.

The title was now more unique and I began to fill in the date for my magazine, I made it smaller so that it was still easy to read but not to big that it was going to break the codes and conventions.

Page 4: Production of front cover

Not realising that maybe the date was too big and the title should have been stretched to the other end filling the entire top bar.

I filled in the barcode which was too big for a usual barcode and then the Positioning statement which isn’t close enough to the title.

Following on, I then included a few of my articles and tried to organise them in a professional manor.

Then included a picture for the background but moved it down so the title isn’t so much over the model. I will then copy and paste certain parts of the brick work so that it can blend in, using the rectangular tool to do so.

I then began to fill in half the brick work, then I'm going to paste it again except flip it so that it reflects the other half.

Furthermore, I have stretched out my title as following the codes and conventions do so. I put the main cover line on the bottom of the page which links to the picture.

The colours on my articles are beginning to progress, need to decide what colours look best and where they look best.

Added extra articles because I need at least 8 articles for my front cover so I needed to add an extra one.

The barcodes are wrong, as they are suppose to have the white bar round it which these ones don’t.

Moreover, I began to try making my magazine a little more professional by setting the artists in a more clearer way which would attract the readers. Although the information below is a bit small I will need to make it bigger.

I have put the models head above the writing as most well known magazines usually do that it so it makes my magazine more professional yet still able to read what the title says, which is very important.

I have removed my mistake of the barcode and replaced it with a more appropriate bar code.

I have left a gap there so I can put my ‘plus’ stuff there this allows them to stand out and grabs the attention of their audience as it will be much easier to read.

Sorted out the bar and filled in the ‘plus’ information, Also went through and changed any spelling mistakes that I have made.

I have edited the pictures to be a little brighter as the pictures before was quite dark, whereas now the lips and the eyes stand out so much, also it really helps that my colour is ‘blue’ for the magazine and so are her eyes it will really grab the audience in, as from the questionnaire that I did it proved that ‘blue’ was the colour that they associated with indie.

As well as this I put the date and the price of the magazine in one like against the barcode, which saved some space and it improved the look, I thought.

Moreover, I anticipated on whether I should change the colours around and see what looked better as what, because I was unsure on if it suited the colours that it was originally.

In terms of my design I decided to change my opinion on the colour again because I thought it was looking a bit too white for me, so I thought I would mess around with the strength of the headlines so that the artist would stand out, whereas maybe the information was more subtle but still able to read clearly.

I moved the web address and the positioning statement towards the title a little, as it looked better and it followed the codes and conventions, staying in line with the title. The positioning statement and the web address needed to stay in the inner of

‘ORIGINAL’.

Following on I edited the main heading of ‘Megan’ with a black deep line so that it made her name stand out and to form a unique look, because the blue by itself was not easy to read, from a distant not very good, but with the black line it makes the blue more easy to read.

I moved it towards the centre so that it did not look like any of the others and in my theory I thought it looked a lot better towards the middle frame, moving the ‘the untold truth’ closer towards ‘Megan’ so that it does look like they are together.

Edited the line of ‘Megan’ just so that it would look better and it looks stronger by using “Bevel & Emboss” to do this.

This is my final design taken from Photoshop, then print screened it and then cropped it so that it was just the magazine and not the bits of the computer
