INTRODUCTION
Foreign DNA(gene) is introduced into the animal,
using recombinant DNA technology.
Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is unit of genetic
which is responsible of all quality and quantity
animal characters.
DNA coiled and coiled with histone protein to
produce chromosome .

EXTRACTION DESIRE GENE
For extraction of specific gene from of millions of
gene we need to Polymerase Chain Reaction
(PCR) technique and include:
DNA extraction
Thermo cycle device
Gene primer
Some chemical materials

METHODS OF TRANSGENIC ANIMAL
1- Retroviral Vector Method
2- Sperm Mediated Gene Transfer
3- Microinjection Method
4- Embryonic Stem Cell
5
1- RETROVIRAL VECTOR METHOD
when the virus vectors infect a host cell, the viral RNA is reverse transcribed in the cytoplasm making linear double-stranded DNA.
A retrovirus is a virus that carries its genetic material in the form of RNA rather than DNA.
In this method, retroviruses are used as vectors to transfer genetic material into the host cell
Infecting mouse embryo with a retrovirus which carry the new gene. 6
7
2- SPERM MEDIATED GENE TRANSFER
8
3- MICROINJECTION METHOD
1) transfer of a desired gene construct (of a single
gene or a combination of genes that are
recombined and then cloned) from another member
of the same species or from a different species into
the pronucleus of a reproductive cell;
2) in vitro culture of the manipulated cells to
develop to a specific embryonic phase; and
3) then transfer of the embryonic cells to the
recipient female.9

4- EMBRYONIC STEM CELL
11
12
APPLICATION OF ANIMAL TRANSGENIC
1- Agriculture like improve Biomass
2- Disease Resistance like avian influenza.
3- Recombinant Vaccines for poultry
4- Livestock Pharming – Products like
myelin production
13
ANIMAL PRODUCTED FROM
TRANSGENIC
1- Transgenic Sheep
2- Transgenic Goat
3- Transgenic Pigs
4- Transgenic Cattle
5- Transgenic Fish
6- Transgenic Chicken
