PRODUCTIVITY NEXUS?! ISSUE NO. 2 | 16-31 OCTOBER 2019 | VOLUME 1
DRIVING PRODUCTIVITY OF THE NATION
From the Editor’s Desk
As indicated in the diagram above, the Malaysia Productivity Blue-
print (MPB) of 2017-2020 that was launched on 8 May 2017 focus-
es on five thrusts to improve the productivity level of Malaysia. The
nine nexus of MPB are tasked to address the challenges in accord-
ance with respective industries of the nine nexus. The top challenge
that is duly given focus in the country’s Budget 2020 that was ta-
bled recently in Parliament is about developing our Malaysian tal-
ents. This is a crucial step for us to build the workforce of the future.
There is now the urgent need to align the mindset of all Malaysians
that together we must raise the number of high-skilled workers, re-
duce the dependence on foreign workers, especially those of low-
skilled, and equip Malaysians, both young and old with due
knowledge so that we can all be future-ready.
