Cleaning Solutions

WSS offers cleaning chemicals, equipment and dosing application to cover the essential needs of offshore rigs, installations and vessels. We protect your assets and suport your operations so you can focus on your value drivers in a safe and clean environment.

Surface Cleaning & Application

WSS supplies a wide range of Unitor™ cleaning chemicals ideal for drill floor, machinery, piping and deck areas. All surface cleaning chemicals are specially formulated and field proven to match your requirements for heavy duty degreasing, rust removal, cleaning in place (CIP), descaling, surface brightening and for biodegradable cleaning chemicals.

Cleaning Equipment

WSS offers a variety of corresponding cleaning equipment that are aligned for Unitor™ chemical application. We provide mobile and stationary electrical high- pressure cleaner, air driven high pressure cleaner for ‘Ex’ areas, related wet sandblasting equipment, accessories and chemical applicators for optimum surface preparation. Furthermore, we offer pumps for chemical mixing/transfer and ultrasonic cleaning machines designed to remove the most stubborn dirt inside equipment, filters etc.

Accommodation Area Cleaning

Keeping kitchen, rest rooms, laundry and accommodation areas clean in order to reduce the risk of infections and diseases is vital to ensure occupational health and safety. We supply detergents, bio-chemicals and related mixing equipment that has been specially adapted for these essential cleaning tasks. For personal care we provide hand cleaners, sanitizer and skin protection products. In addition, we offer range chemicals for sewage treatment. More specific, we provide defoamers, flocculants and bio-chemicals that optimize biological activity in sewage treatment plants and associated systems.

Water Treatment – Boilers & Cooling Water Systems

Complete solution for asset protection and maximized health and environmental focus. The products are easy to dose and control through the Aquaguard dosing systems with associated test kits. Our cooling treatments includes biocides that reduce micro-biological growth and general corrosion inhibitors. For boiler water treatment we offer multifunctional, liquid boiler water treatments, formulated with alkaline compounds, scale inhibitor, dispersant, and volatile amines for the protection of the feed, boiler and condensate systems. In addition we offer liquid catalysts (diethyl hydroxylamine) that protects against oxygen corrosion.

Potable & Technical Water Production Treatment

Complete solution for water production and quality monitoring. The treatment products with associated test kits provide safe water for technical and potable use. The test kits are for offshore water quality monitoring as a standalone test or in combination with laboratory testing. Challenges with propulsion engines, fuel tanks, corrosion, filters and diesel-powered generators are often related to the fuels used, and not the engine mechanics directly. This underlines the need for fuel treatment to be an integrated part of your maintenance. Reducing downtime, increasing operational stability and eradicating costly breakdowns and repairs is all part of strengthening your operational efficiency and HSE. WSS can help you achieve these objectives in your offshore operations.

Our Unitor™ FuelPower and DieselPower range has been developed together with the offshore and maritime industry. The range improve fuel performance and efficiency, reduce the risk of problems down the line, and do so more cost-effectively than ever before. As the demands on fuel continue to change, the Unitor™ FuelPower and DieselPower range help you meet the challenges now and in the future.

Fuel Oil Treatment – Diesel Oil

Distillates fuels used in propulsion engines and diesel-powered generators are prone to deterioration through temperature and oxidation, contamination from microorganisms and exposure to UV light - which again causes gum formation, sedimentation and colour changes. Prolonged "storage" of the fuel in for example emergency/backup systems, further deteriorates the fuel. The refiners only add protection to the fuel for a short period and after this, the fuel is left unprotected from deterioration. When operating in harsh and changing environments, we know from industry experience that bacteria growth (microorganism contamination) is an especially common problem for offshore operators. WSS has thus developed a specially designed biocide to eradicate this challenge - DieselPower Mar 71. This biocide is part of a new product range – Unitor DieselPower – specifically for designed for distillates. A series of advanced formulations helps to keep your fuels bright, stable and trouble-free, with fewer problems and lower costs in operation.

Fuel Oil Treatment - Heavy Oil

Most problems with heavy fuels are related to fuel compatibility. The compatibility becomes a problem in the fuel tanks as sediments are formed and thereafter follow the fuel system causing sludge problems in the separator and the filters. Although heavy fuel consumption is limited and inherent challenges thus less frequent, they do occur. To help meet these challenges our new Unitor FuelPower range applies the most advanced technologies to make certain you can continue to use today's heavy fuels with confidence.

Fuel Oil Treatment - Test Kits

Given the variable quality of fuels today, on board testing is a sure way to ascertain problems that arise due to inconsistency in quality. Our range of fuel testing equipment allows the crew to get an immediate insight into the state of the fuel – quickly, simply and accurately. Challenges such as excess water in the fuel, increased density, bacterial formation, seawater contamination, changes in viscosity and insoluble in distillate fuels as well as water in lubricating oil, can be determined early by testing. Where problems are indicated, the appropriate fuel treatment can be applied immediately to restore quality and ensure operational efficiency.

Across the offshore industry, the pressure is on. Against a backdrop of constantly changing regulations, WSS’s main focus is to ensure that essential gases and refrigerants are supplied, transported, stored and used safely in compliance with the latest regulations. WSS operates the world’s largest global network of distribution, re-filling, maintenance and exchange of gas and refrigerant cylinders. In addition to this, we provide you with transportation racks and manifold racks for safe handling during transport/storage.

Transportation Racks & Cylinder/Rack Exchange

For safe handling, transport and storage of gas cylinder, WSS provide certified rental racks in compliance with DNV 2.7-1. Each rack holds X16 cylinders and both rack and cylinder are barcoded for tracking. WSS also facilitate the required 3rd party rack inspection every 12 and 48 month. The rack can be equipped with an IMDG certified manifold with a single central outlet. The latter feature is optional and available up on request.

With respect to the Unitor™ cylinders, WSS ensure the quality through a continuous and rigid maintenance and quality assurance program. We track and trace each individual cylinder through barcodes and offer a worldwide cylinder exchange program. Send us your empty cylinders and we will swap them with pre-filled new cylinders at your convenience. If desired, and preferable with respect to safe handling, an equal exchange of cylinders should be practiced by using our transport racks. Consolidation of your gases and rack supply creates savings through a single procurement process, one logistic operation and the use of standardised high quality products.

Industrial Gases

WSS supplies all essential gases from welding gases with oxygen and acetylene to shield gas (argon) and inert gas (nitrogen). We also supply a wide range of gases for specialised demands like carbon dioxide, helium and propane. For calibration of critical sensors, WSS also provide a wide range of span gases. In addition, we support your offshore gas requirement when blanketing, purging, leakage testing and performing system commissioning.

Refrigerants & Products

We offer a wide range of high quality Unitor™ refrigerants and equipment to your offshore operations. The Unicool range of refrigerants is available worldwide from the Arctic to Macae. Our refrigerants are quality assured and comes with Low ODP and GWP to ensure compliance to rules and regulations. The range consists of quality refrigerants such as R- 134a, R-404A, R-407C, R-407F, R410A, R-417A, R22 and many more. In addition, we offer refrigeration recovery packages, handy refrigeration tools, duct air treatments and water coolers stations.

Welding Equipment

From open deck to the workshop, our Unitor equipment will not let you down. It’s lightweight, robust, and in compliance to rules and regulations for offshore and maritime use. The welding methods offered covers all maintenance challenges encountered on-board. More specific, our welding range covers arc and gas welding equipment, consumables and storage solutions. This includes equipment such as regulators, hoses, trolleys, clamps flashback arrestors and fume extractors for gas welding and equipment for TIG welding, wire welding, plasma cutting, and stick welding as well as portable/transportable power sources for arc welding.

Consumables & Cabinets

High quality coupled with versatility is at the core of the selection of consumables in the Unitor standard range. It is composed to cover all offshore challenges, yet to be as compact as possible. Our range covers consumables for stick /electrode welding, wire welding, TIG welding, brazing, gas welding and cold repair compounds. Overall, high quality coupled with product versatility supports operational efficiency. QHSSE and standardisation by reducing the number of consumable required on-board.

Our cabinet solutions also provide safe storage and on-board stock to handle unexpected repair situations. When used for high severity applications the electrodes all have the necessary approvals from major classification societies. Protection against seawater and harsh environment is secured through HD packing material and Low Moisture Absorbs ion Coatings.

In the event of minor oil spills during operations or maintenance - a fast, efficient response is essential. Our oil spill kits, booms, sorbent pads and other damage control solutions are all designed to be deployed easily and effectively when used in conjunction with the response plan. Our global network ensures support for the kits with a range of replenishment items.

Oil Spill Kits & Sorbent Booms

Unitor™ oil spill kits are designed as an offshore and marine oil spill response measure. For offshore and marine vessels, the oil spill kits must be used in conjunction with the vessels response plan as required by IMO and OPA90. Whether the offshore application is targeted against minor spill control or as a precautionary measure in relation to maintenance work, our absorbents will take in up to 25 times their own weight. They deploy easily and are effective in use.

In addition to the oil spill kits, WSS also carry a range of sorbent booms. The sorbent booms contain minor oil spills and are designed to link together into any length. The sorbent booms prevent spreading and stop contaminants getting into the sea.

Sorbent Pads & Oil Spill Gear Our range of sorbent pads, rolls and pillows can be used for cleaning up oily, chemical or flammable liquids after a spill. Extremely high absorption rates ensure you that the spill is contained and cleaned up as quickly as possible.

In addition to sorbent pads, we also offer a range of oil spill gear such as, overalls, boots, gloves, waste bags, storage boxes and clean up tools that can be used when handling minor spills.
