DESCRIPTION

Applications

ENERGEX® MC Mega Neutral cables are for use in applications where increasedneutral capacity is required due to non-linear switching loads which can cause additiveharmonic currents to be present on the neutral conductors. They may be used forbranch, feeder and service for distribution in commercial, industrial, and multi-residential construction. It is also suitable for installation in motion picture studios, theaters, and places of assembly (100 people or more) per NEC Articles 230.43,300.22(C), 330, 396, 518, 520, 530 and 645. These cables may be installed inapproved raceways and as open runs of cable on a messenger. They may be installedexposed, concealed or in cable tray and may be run in spaces used for environmentalair in accordance with NEC Article 300.22(C) ONLY.

Nexans MC Mega Neutral Cable is RoHS compliant.

Construction

Conductor:Solid soft bare annealed copper per ASTM B3. Stranded soft bare annealed copperper ASTM B3 and ASTM B8 Class C compressed stranded for sizes 8 AWG and 6AWG.

Insulation:PVC/Nylon Type THHN in accordance to UL 83, flame resistant, meeting UL VW-1flame test.

Neutral Conductor: Softcopper, with white THHN insulation and colored stripe where indicated. Cable haseither one neutral per phase conductor or one over-sized neutral per two phaseconductors.

Ground Wire(s):Sized in accordance with NEC and UL, one with green THHN insulation, one withgreen THHN insulation with a yellow stripe (in cables with two grounds).

Assembly:Conductors are cabled with neutrals and grounding wires. A marker tape/coreprotection tape combination assembles the core in an essentially round configuration.

Armor:Interlocking aluminum tape armor applied directly over the core.
