fundamentals of design softwares such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator,
and InDesign CC 2018.
This course aims to give students and professionals the broad - based and specializations required for establishing and developing a successful career path in the graphic design industry. Areas such as the design elements and principles, editorial design, branding, and advertising, are taught to students in order to equip them for more advance courses or career opportunities.
PREREQUESITES • A Laptop for lab practices. Laptop specifi-cations and suggestions are avaiable if requested. • A Sketchbook (A4) for illustration practices. • Email address setup for the instructor

GRAPHICOVERVIEW
Lectures
This course is delivered in two (2) months with two (2) lectures per week. Each lecture spans for three (3) consecutive hours. Lectures shall be dedicated in addressing students’ concerns and clarifications to ensure full understanding of the lessons.
Labs
Following a set of lectures, Lab practices are given in order to ensure that com-plete understanding of each lesson is delivered and applied by the students. Students are assigned sketchbook-relat-ed tasks or simple design projects that would be submitted on the next lecture. These tasks are then compiled for portfo-lio purposes.
Engagement
participation in lectures, discussions, and group activities is encouraged in this course. This develops the students’ confidence, communication skills, and teamwork.
Assignments
Theory
Students are given sets of questionnaires with regards to the lesson. These questions are related to the theoretical aspect of the course and will ensure that the students understand the fundamen-tals of the lessons being taught.
Practice
Students are assigned creative scenarios that would require them to produce design outcomes. These practices will enable the students to analyze the given situation and apply suitable methods or techniques of creative problem solving.
