What is a Professional?



Professional identity refers to an individual's self-concept about their professional role based on their

1. Talents and abilities - attributes [skills] and experiences

2. Motives and needs - beliefs and reasons

3. Attitudes and values- norms/standards

The professional identity of safety professionals is developed

throughout their professional lives, however,

it is also significantly shaped by how [we] enter the profession.
