Notable Reviews Latia Stokes, who played Becca, was simply stunning. Her performance was emotionally dynamic and she
was wonderfully expressive and emotive. She also brought a great sense of kindness and hospitality to
the role which was best displayed when she hosted Thanksgiving dinner. Her dynamism is her strength
as an actress and she showcased it brilliantly as she displayed the complex emotions one would expect
out of a woman finding out that the love of her life is attracted to children.
-DCMetroTheaterArts
Latia Stokes, as the pre-bah-humbug youth's fiancée, brought admirable warmth to their brief scene.
-The Baltimore Sun
Latia Stokes’ portrayal of the character, notably in the mournful and loving letters she writes him, is the
most sympathetic and emotionally resonant in the play.
-DCMetroTheaterArts
Rounding out the ensemble were Latia Stokes and Manu Kumasi, playing a revolving circus of adults,
bullies, relatives, teachers, police officers, and more, often with conflicting advice and demands of our
heroes. Stokes did an admirable job navigating the spectrum of her characters, including Darius’
troubled mother, the boys’ cloyingly earnest English teacher, a swaggering bully, and Twig’s haughty
running opponents.
-Theatre Bloom
Latia Stokes’ single scene as Portia is even more impressive. Stokes may have the best command of verse
out of anyone in the cast, and the acting chops to back up the words
