Dr. Chao received a Fulbright Scholarship grant to teach and conduct research in China. While a Fulbright Scholar, he was invited to lecture at various universities in China. He has also taught in Austria, Denmark, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

His research has been published in leading journals in Marketing and International Business including Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of International Business Studies, International Marketing Review, Management International Review, Journal of Business Ethics, among others. He is currently on the Editorial Review Board of International Marketing Review. He has co-edited a Special Issue on International Marketing in Asia Pacific Region for the journal. Other works have been presented and published in numerous national and international conferences. In addition, he has also served as Track Chairs at various national and international conferences.
